Just thinking of you and wanted to let you know that you will NEVER be forgotten. I ALWAYS smile when I think of some of your crazy stunts. I probably should have let you hold some paper, but you reminded me so much of another crazy young officer. Miss you my friend.

I am a retired Albany, N.Y. Police Detective. My elderly parents live in New Bern and are frequent users of the Craven County Hospital. Every time I'm there, walking accross that same parking lot, I reflect upon Officer Miller and his wife. My heart & prayers go out to the family.

Although I have posted before, I read your reflections again today and had to let your family know that they are in my heart's embrace. You served my home state and the birthplace of my beloved son Larry Lasater who was murdered in 2005 while serving as a police officer in California. The circumstances of your death were so senseless. You are remembered with reverence today. Rest In Peace.

Ten years has brought with it many sad times and many happy times but during all of those occassions we have been thinking of you. I often rely on the thoughts of you to give me strength to make it through tough times as your determination and will power were so great.

Thank you for all you did for us and always remember my brother we love you and miss you.

It's been 10 years and we still grieve. Then I remember the pranks that you played on all of us and that makes me smile. You touched our hearts in a very special way and we miss you so much my friend. Thank you for looking over us today and everyday.

I woke up today and as soon as my feet hit the floor I remembered this day 10 years ago. My first thought was the word “infamy” and then I smiled. The word itself has a meaning, so I looked it up a found the definition and again I smiled. Such a derogatory word as it stands alone. I chose to use my smile and this word for a day that will always be to us as “a day that will live with infamy”. Thousands of lives were not lost this day, but this was a day that thousands of lives were affected. We all get a little bit stronger every day, unfortunately today and the 25th are our weakest days.
I love you my brother and miss you just as much.

Don even though it has been almost ten years since I received that phone call I can promise you that your memory has not been dulled overtime. You will always be to me one of the greatest men that has ever stood on two legs. Not a day goes by that I don’t tell someone of you or recount a story about you or one of our trips we took . I miss you my brother and happy early birthday. You will always be a superhero in my eyes. The sticker on my car says it best “Father , Son, Brother, Hero” 624 FOREVER. I can promise you that I will always be there for Gage and Logan, and I will always lookout for Tracy in your place. I love you brother and would walk through a thousand Hells barefoot if it meant that me my family and Tracy could have one more day with you .

Donald, since the day you were born you were a very special baby, and you just continued to be so throughout your life. We saw you grow up and become a wonderful man, son, husband, father, and one who served his (our) country in so very many ways and helped to make this world a better one. You gave all for what you believed in and the animal who took your life, left a huge void not only in our world, but in so many hearts. We will always miss you and think about you so much! Our prayers are for you and your family ....always, Bob & Marie Mulherin
