I always think of you & your family this time of year. We've all made it though these years by knowing you're in God's loving hands, and are now safe. It was an honor to have been in your academy class; I'm so blessed that we reconnected before you were taken from us. Until next time sister.

Mom and Dad celebrated their 50th Anniversary this year, believe that? How can one couple manage to stay together as long as they have especially with all the shenanigans you and I pulled growing up, lol. Everybody misses you so much. We all love you Candy.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 10th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pride and pain are forever. The reflections left for you by your daughter, mother and brother really tear me apart because they are so hearfelt.

Rest In Peace

Well momma, I'm finally doing it.. I'm writing a book on your life. I started yesterday and interviewed your father..(Fun) lemme tell ya! I learned some interesting facts on your childhood. I regret not telling you while you were here.. how much you amazed me. You are beyond exceptional! I'm honored and blessed to be able to tell my children and the public about you. You lived a life of hardships and sorrow but you also lived a life that most only see in movies. I thank God for you. You are my inspiration. I love you Mom!!!

If anyone has a story to share.. please email me.

Several years have passed, but your memory lives on. I am currently writing a Criminal Justice paper on hazardous job duties of law enforcement officers. Your memory quickly appeared in my mind; therefore I will share my memory of you with the entire class at Phoenix University as I write this paper. I remember doing a ride-a-long with you when you first became a police officer and requested you to stop by my Aunts house for a needed break :). I still think of you everytime I drive over the Memorial bridge that has your name. RIP Candace Ripp, gone but not forgotten.

I know you were laughing at us on your birthday. Valen and I were so sad but you were twirling your hair that is not gray (or thin) and thinking you pulled one over on us. We love you anyway, Babe, and miss you every day. Love, Mother
