Reflections for Police Officer Dominick Pezzulo

My heart still aches. I was a freshman in High School. I remember being so afraid not knowing what was going to happen. If the attacks were going to continue or if the WTC was the only target. All I know is, tears fill my eyes every 09/11. I will never forget this day. It is because of First Responders like you that make this country great. Your selfless acts. While we are running from evil... You are running with a sword and shield in hand to it. Ready to make the ultimate sacrifice if needed. My heart hurts for all of the men and women who died this day. God bless you ALWAYS! AMERICA!

I cannot say enough or offer enough tears or emotions for the numerous, numerous amazing men and women who gave so selflessly and heroically that day and for still many, the numerous days that followed over the numerous years to come. On this 19th anniversary of one of the deadliest days for American law enforcement I'd like to say to you all thank you, God Bless you and rest in peace always knowing that your service and sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten by your law enforcement brethren.

Eu estava trabalhando em Newark. Coloquei flores nos carros dos que nao regressaram. Fui o primeiro a receber muitos sobreviventes no parking lot proximo a Penn Station. Ali comigo tomaram sua primeira garrafa de agua .Me abracaram. Choraram comigo. Dias depois um homem com lagrimas nos olhos me deu um bone do Port Authority Police numero 27. Me disse que gostaria que fosse meu.Guardo ate hoje. Meus Amigos.

Officer Pezzulo is a true hero in every word. Just watched the movie about him and words cannot express the feelings about what this Officer must have gone through during those moments that he was desperately trying to rescue fellow brothers who were trapped.

Dear Officer Pezzulo,

May you rest in peace. Like the many other officers who perished that day, I did not know you. I was in college back then in Boston and witnessed the tragedy through a small TV screen.

Yet, the memory of that day is as vivid as yesterday. I cannot even imagine what you and your loved ones went/have gone through. Bless your family for their loss and sacrifice and your parents for raising a person so empathetic and brave as yourself.

12 years later we remember you and you will never be forgotten for your selfless act and for giving your life up not only for your friend but for total strangers. Thank you. I believe in a world with more people like you and hope one day I can be such a person.

Family of Officer Dominick Pezzulo (Port Authority). On Saturday, September 8, 2012, the Wausau WI Memorial Stair Climb took place. I climbed the 110 flights of stairs in memorial of Dominick. When i finished the climb, I spoke Dominick's name and rang the bell. It was an emotional journey for me, representing all the persons who lost their lives in the 9-11 tragedy. I have his picture and will keep it close as a reminder of the heroism he showed on that day 11 years ago. Peace to you.

Lord, he was yours to give,
and yours to call home.
Please stand by his brothers,
so they're not all alone.
Dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly can see,
that he gave us his all,
so all could have peace.

Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy
on HEROES IN BLUE.
Amen.

Rest in peace Dominick,
