Officer Pezzulo is a true hero in every word. Just watched the movie about him and words cannot express the feelings about what this Officer must have gone through during those moments that he was desperately trying to rescue fellow brothers who were trapped.

Dear Officer Pezzulo,

May you rest in peace. Like the many other officers who perished that day, I did not know you. I was in college back then in Boston and witnessed the tragedy through a small TV screen.

Yet, the memory of that day is as vivid as yesterday. I cannot even imagine what you and your loved ones went/have gone through. Bless your family for their loss and sacrifice and your parents for raising a person so empathetic and brave as yourself.

12 years later we remember you and you will never be forgotten for your selfless act and for giving your life up not only for your friend but for total strangers. Thank you. I believe in a world with more people like you and hope one day I can be such a person.

Family of Officer Dominick Pezzulo (Port Authority). On Saturday, September 8, 2012, the Wausau WI Memorial Stair Climb took place. I climbed the 110 flights of stairs in memorial of Dominick. When i finished the climb, I spoke Dominick's name and rang the bell. It was an emotional journey for me, representing all the persons who lost their lives in the 9-11 tragedy. I have his picture and will keep it close as a reminder of the heroism he showed on that day 11 years ago. Peace to you.

You are a true Hero to us all. May you rest in peace, God bless you, your family and all those police officers that lost their lives that terrible day. I was only 5 but still remember that day due to having a father in law enforcement. You saved thousands of lives including the lives of your fellow officers.

Of all the heroes that day, some stand out for various reasons. God Bless you Officer Pezzulo, your efforts to save your brother Officers under such incredible circumstances were super human and your courage undeniable. You are a hero in the truest sense.

Lord, he was yours to give,
and yours to call home.
Please stand by his brothers,
so they're not all alone.
Dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly can see,
that he gave us his all,
so all could have peace.

Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy
on HEROES IN BLUE.
Amen.

Rest in peace Dominick,
