I was in 10th grade in Texas on 9/11/01. I remember in the days after everyone bought bracelets with the name of a first responder that was lost on that day as a way to honor and remember them. I'm now 36 years old and every single year on 9/11 I look up the name that was on my bracelet to see his face and read about his heroic actions each year. I did not know him, or anyone that was lost that day, but I will never forget him. Thank you Robert Fazio, Jr. for your courage and bravery.

My name is also Robert fazio. I also remember this terrible day and when I first found out a very brave policeman died in the world trade center. I was only 33 then till this day everyday and on this day I can't help but feel I I have a kindred spirit in heaven. My heart goes out to all of his family and all the families that suffered and still are. September 11th is a very hard day for me but I cannot even fathom how hard it is for all of you. Rest in peace. Robert

Dearest Bobby,

You were my hero pre 9/11. I think of you always and honor you every 9/11. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years.

I will never forget and forever be grateful for all your help in restoring my apartment which I still have today.
That day I walked into the 13th precinct asking for help to get squatters out of my apartment, you were in civilian clothes ready to go home for the day.I stood there crying asking for your help. I could see your compassion as you listened to me.

And I knew your heart as soon as you said ‘okay,I will come help you’. You unselfishly put your uniform back on and proceeded with me to my apartment. It ended up being a bigger deal than we thought and you had to call for back up.

I got to spend the next few days with you going through belongings that were left in my apartment. You were kind, giving and so comforting. We laughed so much at some of the things we found. I am so blessed to have met you that day

Over the months to come we would stay in touch. I would see you in the neighborhood helping elderly neighbors carrying groceries and always extending yourself.

You were one of a kind. I will forever hold you in my heart. I know you are watching over.

With love,
Maria

Dearest Rob,
I will Never Forget you, my friend, my love. 20 years have gone by so fast. I remember the last day I saw you and said to u, be careful out there, I don't want to see you on the news one day. It sends shivers down my spine thinking of my premonition, which I never said out loud. You were a good friend, soft spoken, kind and handsome. I wish to God you weren't working on September 11, 2001. However God had different plans for you Robbie than what we had once planned. I remember you always, miss you at times and as Taylor Dayne once song, I'll Always Love You for the rest of my days....From G-Club days to 2001. May God bless you and keep you in his loving grace! I know I have a Guardian Angel and he is wearing a police uniform just like the teddy bear you gave me. Ciao for now bello, until we meet again! Xoxo Lu

Last week marked 16 years since your passing. I was 11 years old on September 11, 2001 and I still remember waking up that morning and seeing my mother in tears. I looked up at the television and right away noticed where those tears were coming from. 16 years later I am now 27 and just beginning my path in law enforcement. I am currently part of Class 425 in the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Academy. I hope to become a sworn officer before the end of the year and one day become a hero like yourself and everybody who lost their lives helping others on that horrific day are. Thank you for your sacrifice and you are a true hero.

I never knew you Officer Fazio, but I remember seeing your name on a sign after the attack. The sign simply read "Have you seen Robert Fazio." All of these years later, I still remember your name. I have kept you in my thoughts for well over 10 years. I live in Virginia. I never knew you sir, but I will always remember that sign. I want you to know how brave you were that day. Thank you and rest in piece.
