Chris, A few days after the attack I was able to see your wife & then baby daughter, she's a big girl now. Nothing prepared them for this, nothing could. its 9/10/16 and I am thinking of you and your family and I'm sure most Americans are in one form or another. Tonight and tomorrow will be like any other day, I will pray for them all, and for you. Go Bless & keep you in his loving arms.

A gentle giant of a man... I never met Chris but I know his story and he lives on as his story is told. I have the news photo of Chris helping a woman from the Towers on his second trip out. He went back in to rescue more people and did not return. This is a story I tell at every police academy class and college course I present. Thank you for your service sir.

In the days following 9/11 a local jeweler in my hometown was moved to find a way to honor the memory of the fallen first responders/help their families. They chose to have necklaces/bracelets made with charms that had the name of police officers/firefighters on them to be worn as a memorial. I purchased one of the bracelets and the name on my charm was Christopher Amoroso. From that day forward I have tried to be diligent to pray for your family as well lift up your name in gratitude for the countless lives you got to safety, not sparing your own. Thank you Chris for your compassion and bravery. Fly high. There will be many stars in your crown.

Chris, I did not know your story. I got a spot to climb in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in September 2014. I am trying to learn as much as I can about you so it's not "just a picture" around my neck. My friends have helped me raise over $3,000 dollars to go to the NLEOMF. I promise to do my best. I truly believe you will know what I am doing and hope you will be looking down smiling buddy. I will climb because Chris climbed.

I was attending a officer survival/combat mindset training this week. Your photo was shown in class of you rescuing people from the buildings. You stood strong and fought the fight. Your courageous efforts and selfless attitude made me want to be the best police officer I can be. Thank you for your service. Rest well brother, we have the watch from here....... 10-42 Sir.

I can't believe it has been almost 10 years since that dreadful day when we lost you......I swear it seems like yesterday! We think of you often and words can not express how much we miss you! You are a true 9/11 hero but that doesn't take the pain away.....even though we know you died doing what you loved. You were safely out of the South Tower yet ran back in to help others......we wish you would have stayed outside the building but then that wouldn't have been you. For those of you who do not know him personally....Chris's nickname: "chopper".....was a true genuine friend, he was caring, always made you smile and had a laugh that was contagious. He was just like a big snuggly teddy bear. Almost 10 years gone.....never forgotten......and it never gets any easier. We miss you and love you PAPD Officer Christopher "Chopper" Amoroso!! Until we meet again my friend!!

I learned of Chris' sacrifice yesterday in a training class put on by Col. David Grossman U.S. Army (ret). The photo of him assisting the woman from the WTC towers struck me and my classmates. It was a very sobering moment about what we have to face in this job. Godspeed, Chris. The photo of you is what I will always think of when someone mentions NYPA Police.

Lord, he was yours to give,
and yours to call home.
Please stand by his brothers,
so they're not all alone.
Dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly can see,
that he gave us his all,
so all could have peace.

Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy

Rest in peace Chris,
Wife of a retired ConRail Detective

I am just going through the names of the fallen heroes on 9-11 and came to Officer Chris' name. The comemoration of the heroic acts of Chris in that late event is fast approaching.

I am moved to send this message and moved to "pray" for all the heroes in that event. As a priest I am one with the family and friends of Sir Christopher in praying for him. My heartfelt condolences for your great loss.

To Sir Christopher: "I salute you! You have left your loved ones but your memories of heroism continues to live on in their hearts and in the hearts of all people whose outcry is Peace, Love and Unity for the Whole World. Be at Peace in God's bossom."

I am a police officer in Mount Olive New Jersey and recently particiapated in the Police Unity Tour. A bicycle ride from NJ to DC for a memorial service at the Police Officers Memorial. This year I road in Honor of Christopher. I recently had a class were the instructor mentions Chris. After researching him I felt obligated to ride in his honor. As a husband and father, I could only imagine what he went through that day. I also think of the ones he had to leave behind. Each year I particiapte in the Unity Tour and would like to someday meet Christophers wife and daughter and offer the memorial bracelet that I wore from NJ to DC. I would also like to mention that Christophers memory lives on in every DARE class that I teach when we discuss making difficult decisions in life.

May god bless Christopher and his family. I invite any family member to reach out for me if they wish to do so.
