LOVE YOU SON

FATHER

October 3, 2012

Its hard to beleive that it has been 11 years since you were taken from this earth to be with our heavenly father. I know you are in a much better place but it still doesnt make it any easier. Everytime I put on my uniform and get in my Black and Silver patrol car, my thoughts are with you and our fun times on and off duty together. I am so grateful to have known you and to call you my Friend.

Eleven years ago today
An angel came down one October day
And my brother was carried away
My memories of love and laughter will never fade
Inside my heart he will always stay
But the ache of loosing him will never go away

Thinking of you on this day, our very special day 19 years ago. It was the best day of my life. I am honored to have been your wife. Thanks for being you and continuing to show me your love through everything! The Lord is working miracles with Trooper Mitchell. I'm so thankful that his family hasn't had to say goodbye to him like we did you. I will see you again one day in a much better place than this world! Love you!

Please watch over me as I am an officer with the Old Fort Police Department and I was named after you. My grandmother named me after you in 1991 when she was a Deaputy Sheriff at the Yancey County Sheriffs Office she spoke of you highley. I hope I make you proud.

TODAY IS CALVIN'S BIRTHDAY. TODAY IN HONOR OF HIS HUMOR, AND HIS ABILITY TO MAKE EVERYONE LAUGH ...LETS DO THE SAME. MAKE SOMEONE SMILE OR MAKE THEM LAUGH UNTIL THEY CRY TODAY. OUR FAITH AND OUR HUMOR AND LOVE ARE THE ONLY THINGS THAT HAVE GOTTEN US THROUGH THE PAST TEN YEARS. TAKE TIME TO DANCE TO THE MUSIC AND LAUGH.....WE MISS HIM SO MUCH

Dearest Calvin,
I was visiting family & friends in Columbia/Virginia recently and we shared fond memories of you. Mom and Dad are well. The kids are all basically grown now...Mallory just got married, Annie is in college & Alex is getting ready to graduate & considering joining the Navy. Even though time goes on, you are still missed every day. As Christmas approaches, I will think about all the ones we shared and be thankful to have been so blessed to be your wife. Thanks especially for spending your last Christmas with me....I never gave up hope until 10-3-01.
Yesterday evening, a police officer & several firefighters were hit on I-40 while at an accident scene. Thankfully they survived and were able to return home to their families. I'm so glad it didn't turn out like you & Anthony's incidents.
Love you forever!

Ten years ago today was the most horrible day of our lives. It seems as if it was yesterday. To all that still mourn Calvin's death, please in his honor do something nice for someone. Do something you want to do ...not something you have on your should do list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? Why are you waiting? When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift...thrown away. Life is not a race, take it slower..Hear the music and dance before the song is over. Calvin always listened to the song and he danced....
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers this week.

In loving memory of G530 Calvin's loving sister Pat

My Dearest Calvin,
As the 10th anniversary of 9-11-01 approaches, I remember the day that our country was forever changed. I was out of town and so desperately wanted to talk to you, to hear your voice but I couldn't get in touch with you. I asked one of my family members to keep trying to get up with you and tell you that I had called & was thinking about you. Little did I know that 3 weeks later, a tragedy would hit much closer to home....you lost your life on another beautiful day. 10-3-01...a day that forever changed my life as well as many others lives. The sky was a beautiful blue color, just as it was on 9-11-01 but the day ended seeming like everything around me was dark. I'm so thankful for the kindness shown to me that day by some of your co-workers, our pastor (Rob), some of my former co-workers at Canton PD and staff at Haywood Regional. I'm also thankful that the Lord provided such a beautiful day to be your last day here on earth...I can imagine you were enjoying the day (although working) and thinking about being out somewhere fishing. I learned so much from you; from your life and from your death. Thanks for choosing to share your life with me.....I'm so sorry things ended like they did. You were a one-in-a-lifetime & I was so blessed to be loved by you.

Remembering you & loving you still on your birthday! I'm sure if you hadn't been taken from us on that October day, you would probably be retired by now....somewhere fising to celebrate your birthday. Love you alway!!!

Calvin would have been 51 today. In remembering him today, please call someone you haven't seen in a while and say hi, hug your love ones and tell them you love them. We miss him so much, and wish we had one more fantastic Calvin hug. Be kind and love one another, and keep the Taylor family in your prayers.....Pat
