Today is very much like this date 12 years ago. Cool morning, warming up & beautiful sky. The Lord blessed you with a pretty day before he took you home. You are surely in a much better place than us but I definitely miss you! There will always be a hole in my heart with your name on it....love you!

Hey there Uncle Calvin,
Today, September 21st, is National Thank a Police Officer Day. I shared a picture of you reminding everyone to remember that some of us still feel the hurt from those who paid the ultimate price. As I'm sure you already know, I now live in Idaho and the love of my life also happens to be a police officer. Mama and Granny came out a few months ago and Granny commented on how much my Jake reminds her of you. You'd like him too. I suppose my family just is one filled up with cops huh? But I'm going back home to North Carolina in a short while and I'm going to see Aunt Denise for the first time in over a year! I'm so very excited! But I also wanted to say to you thank you for being such a great Uncle to me. I was ten when you passed but I still remember so much about you. Esp when Pa-Paw, you and I would all go riding in the woods and you always kept a close eye on me to make sure I didn't wonder off. I'm going to try and write up here more often Uncle Calvin. I'll see you on the other side (=

Calvin,
It's been almost 12 years since the Lord took you home. I want to thank you for all that you did for Mallory when she was going through a difficult time in her life. Your calls notes and books helped her so much. There was nobody like 'Uncle Calvin'.I know you are proud of the person she has become.I consider you as one of my brothers.I look at the picture of you and Whiskers in your patrol car everyday. You are always in our thoughts. I keep a blue light on in my window 24/7 in your honor.Denise, Mallory and myself stopped at the siite of your accident on a beautiful snowy saturday before Easter in 2007. The three us did the COPS walk to the top of Mt. Mitchell in your honor in 2006.

Good evening sweetie. I watched a movie today that made me think of you so much. Thanks for your continued love, caring & support & for never giving up! You were truely one-of-a-kind. I heard someone talking about the highland games coming up this weekend.....you always worked there so that reminded me of you too. They talked about where to park & I thought to myself....my sweet husband always had a space for me & was watching for me. I'm so sorry......and miss you always. Love you!
