Reflections for Master Trooper Calvin Eugene Taylor

MAY 4 2020

MASTER TROOPER CALVIN E TAYLOR WOULD HAVE BEEN 60 YEARS OLD TODAY. IT HAS BEEN 19 YEARS SINCE HE PASSED AWAY, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY. I STILL THINK OF HIM EVERY DAY, MISSING THAT BEAUTIFUL SMILE AND THOSE BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES. MISSING MY BABY BROTHER.....

Dearest Calvin,
My Daddy has joined you now. If there's fishing in Heaven, I'm sure you have been with him already and looking at deer

Thinking about you today, as every day, and as I stood with my feet in the ocean, remembered all the times we fished together in it. Me & my family, love you and miss you still.

OCTOBER 3

IT HAS BEEN EIGHTEEN YEARS SINCE THAT FAITHFUL DAY, THAT GOD TOOK HIM AWAY.
WE STILL MISS HIM, AND THINK OF HIM , AND TELL CALVIN STORIES EVERY DAY. CALVIN WAS 6 YEARS OLD WHEN I LEFT HOME FOR COLLEGE. I WAS LEAVING FOR WASHINGTON DC, I WAS HEARTBROKEN ,NOT KNOWING WHEN I WOULD BE ABLE TO COME HOME.A LITTLE BOY LOOKED UP AT ME WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BIG EYES AND HANDED ME A STICK. HE TOLD ME TO ALWAYS KEEP THE STICK AND LOOK AT IT EVERY DAY AND AND THINK OF HIM. THAT HAS BEEN 52 YEARS AGO, I STILL HAVE THE STICK AND I STILL LOOK AT IT AND THINK OF MY LITTLE BROTHER .DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE TODAY IN HIS MEMORY....MISSING MY LITTLE BROTHER

Calvin,

17 years ago you were taken from us much too soon. On a bright sunny day much like today. You were out serving and protecting the citizens of North Carolina. Thank you for your service and for all you did for myself and my family. You will always be in our hearts and minds. RIP brother. You will never be forgotten.

Sheriff Darryl Liverman
Tyrrell County Sheriff's Office, Columbia, N.C.

Thanks for loving me like you did...the Liverman family will always love/miss you.

On October 3rd 2001, a beautiful autumn day
A North Carolina State Trooper
Was keeping us safe, patrolling the highway

He was on I 40 east of exit 27
When the angels came down
And took him through the gates of heaven

We miss his beautiful smile and twinkling eyes
And our lives will never be the same
Oh how we wish we could have said our good byes

We believe what we have always been told
That one day we we will all join him there
Where he is patrolling the streets of gold

Missing G-530 today and everyday. A friend went to DC and brought back Calvin's name from the memorial, gave to me on his birthday. Seventeen years later we both stood and cried, just like it was yesterday. Miss you little brother.

Even after 16 years, a song on the radio brings tears to my eyes as I think of you. Even though things were all screwed up with us at the end of your life, my heart was broken & hopes were destroyed that day. Can't wait to see you again one day. Please watch over Alex as he is now a deputy.

Trooper Taylor,
I did not have the privilege of meeting you but I have met some very special people that knew and loved you and for that I am thankful.. The words they spoke about you is a proof that you were not only a an outstanding law enforcement officer but a true HERO. Please continue to watch over us. You will never be forgotten.

Today started out like my mood... gloomy, but the sky eventually cleared into a beautiful day just like 16 years ago was. I'll never forget how my heart broke that day. I'll never forget you & all that we shared, especially your words to me the night before.

It's been 16 yrs today since that tragic day in 2001 when I received the call about Calvin
Before the call it had been a beautiful fall day. All those that knew Calvin had their lives changed forever on that day. Calvin was the example of who a law enforcement officer should be. He also cared about his fellow man. He will never be forgotten and his memory lives on in our minds and hearts. G- 530 answered the final call. G-530 is 10 42.

Working night shift trying to stay busy trying not to think about today’s date and when I pass by on I 40, the Sound of Silence starts playing on the radio and it hits me head on. I think daily if I stopped on the eastbound side while you were on the westbound side I could have been there for you. Less than a minute later, I was responding back to you and I couldn’t get there fast enough. I live with this dilemma every day and since that day 16 years ago, I have experienced so many tragic events and I wonder if it’s my punishment for not stopping that day. I often think about the conversation's we had and I wish I could ask you more questions instead of being around a table with only one seat left now.

Calvin, I am sorry
