It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, but not because I haven’t thought about you. There has just been entirely too much to deal with. Everyone has kind of lost touch with each other over the past years, I’m sure it can be attributed to the head and not the heart, we all have something in common, with your tragic passing, we are always connected, no matter how far apart we may be. That fateful day 9 years ago, we walked into a room full of strangers, and when the week was over, we had lifetime friends.
When I lost Dad in January, I couldn’t bear the thought that he was gone from my life, but I did have some peace knowing that you were there waiting for him, and the 2 of you would continue the argument of the definition of “moving the car.”
Today we reach the 9 year mark, it seems as if it was yesterday, and I often find myself saying, “If James were here, he would…” I think of you often, and miss you forever!

Tiffany,
I will be out of town next week (as I usually am this time of year) so I wanted to write this before I run out of time. I think of your family often, especially you & Logan this time of the year. It is still so strange how we ended up meeting with all the people I could have happened upon in D.C./2002. Thanks again for being there for me...hope to see you again some day. Hope you all are doing well! Oh yeah, as the time for the COPS WALK is upcoming too, thanks for your help in the support I got from the FOP Lodge up there! Take care!

Police Week is coming up and we are all thinking of you and the ulimate sacrifice you made. We love you and there's not a day that goes by that you are not mentioned. We all love and miss you so very much.

You would be so proud of Logan. She is just doing fantastic in her studies and has become a beautiful young lady. Yup, gotta watch out for those boys now! She speaks of you often and is a spitting image of you. She has your light brown eyes and your charming smile.

I know you and Eric are watching over all of us and patroling the streets of heaven. We miss you both!

All our love forever,

Tiff.

There's not a day that goes by that I do not think of you. I still miss you dearly and still have a hard time dealing with your death. Please stay close to me and help guide me in the next couple of weeks.

A bunch of us went to your grave on Monday to honor you and your memory. I think you would of been proud of everyone. Logan's doing great, freshman at First Colonial in the advanced legal studies program. I'm sure you are watching over her and making she she does her best.

I hope one day, that I can find forgivness in my heart for the man that killed you. I think if I did, it would release alot of what I have holding inside of me. But I don't see that happening anytime soon.

We all miss and love you James.

All my love forever!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 8th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I am holding your family in thought and prayer today as I know anniversary days are particularly hard for Tiffany and Logan and your parents.
Rest In Peace

Hey James. Its been a while since I have been up here. I was reading the poem on my grandparents wall that Tiffany gave them and it made me think of you. I love and miss you. Until we meet again.

Tiffany,
With the 28th coming up I wanted you to know I'll be thinking of you & Logan (as well as the rest of your family). I so hope we can get together again soon! Hang in there! I'm not sure how, but we've made it 7 years already - at least now the smiles come more often than the tears. Take care!
Love ya

Not a day goes by that we don't miss and think of you. Life is not the same, even after all these years. God has blessed us with so many wonderful things since you have been gone. We can't halp but think you have had something to do with that. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Brother, police week 2008 you are not forgotten. We just returned from DC and thought about the 18000 names on the wall, and how many times we've gone to work thinking "it won't happen to me". We all get complacent, and I'm sure almost every hero on that wall thought the same thing. Our hearts are heavy, especially this week, a week to remember all law enforcement heros. But you are not gone, heros live forever.
