Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Officer Ronald Sheffield

Our thoughts and prayers are not only with the nation and those who have suffered so terribly these past few weeks, but it also with the family of an Officer called Home too early. Thank you for your service to protect our Federal brother and sisters. Your deeds will not be forgotten and your name will be held in high esteem.

Kenny Rose
Lehi Police Department (Utah)

I continually pray that every name I read here will be the last, but they keep stacking up.

So many men are willing to put on the blue uniform and put their lives on the line every day. It truly makes me hopeful that there is still much, much good in this world, cancelling out all the bad.

Thank you for all you gave, which was ultimately the most possible. I know you touched many lives.

My sincere condolences to the Sheffield family and the Officers of the Federal Protective Service. I am greatly saddened by your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. In July of 1998, I lost a friend in the same manner at the United States Capitol. May God give you the strength and courage to get through this difficult time, and the years to come. Although our brotherhood has suffered a tremendous loss, we know that Ronald is now safe in Gods arms guarding the gates of Heaven. God Bless you Ronald, for all that you have been, and for all that you have meant, to the people whose lives you have touched..."

Sgt. Richard Lopez
United States Capitol Police

May you rest in peace for we know there was little rest while you were here. God bless you for giving the ultimate sacrifice. I will pray for you and your family.

FPS Officer Sheffield died doing a great service for the employees and patrons of the McNamara Federal Building in Detroit. Inlight of the heavy hearts we all carry due to the assault on our nation, this just adds to the sorrow. I pray that his family and all of us, the American Family, will be comforted at this time of sorrow.

Officer Ronald Sheffield, his family and fellow officers are in our thoughts and prayers. When any Brother or Sister in public safety falls, we are all affected.

I visit the ODMP regularly, like many others... and I think we all share the same wish: to not see a new Brother or Sisters name listed.

Our thoughts are with the friends and family of FPS Officer Sheffield. Officer Sheffield greeted us every morning with a professional demeanor and took pride in his work. He was a true professional. His death came while protecting members of our agency, as well as several other federal law enforcement agencies in the building. We owe him an immeasurable debt of gratitude and the effects of his untimely death are heartbreaking.

All I can think of every time I loose a brother is what is written on the wall at the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial outside my building: "It is not how these officers died that made them heros, it is how they lived." May God be with all our fallen heros!

B.R.P.B., Special Agent

I dread hearing of another fallen officer. This officer made the ultimate sacrifice carrying out the duties of the job, and for that he is a hero. God bless the family and friends of Officer Sheffield. May he rest in peace.
