Hey Jason I never got the chance to meet you in person but, Gigner told me a lot about and how good of an officer you were. I have attended the charity run that your parents set up for the past three years and ran it last year. From all the stories that Gignger told me about you, you were truelly an amazing guy.

Jason,

With the passing of another officer it made me reflect on you. Times passes so quickly but you will never be forgotten. I remember working part time with you at North Central and we would laugh and joke around all night. You had a great passion for Law Enforcement. Miss you brother! Rest in Peace!!

I was only a young IPD Explorer on that night 12 years ago, but I remember it like yesterday. Guys shuffling out of class to head to the area of 32nd/Keystone.

My life ended up taking me out of law enforcement, but I never forgot you or that night. So today, I say thank you. Thank you for your sacrifice, that you for your determination to get the bad guys off the street.

We Remember you Jason.

“He was a warrior. He was a true warrior. He was taking on fire. There was not an ounce of fear in him, and he still chased and fought to the end. Jason, we will miss you.” ~Chaplain Kassel~

And that we do my friend..... We miss you.
Never forgotten!

I am currently attending the IMPD Leadership Academy. I had the privilege of sitting in class and hearing your friends and family talk about how great of a young man you were. Listened to your voice on the radio that night, even though you were taking rounds from a long rifle you were calm and steadfast. Your father is defiantly proud of his son. Your dad seems like a fine man, I don’t know him but I know he loves you and loves the profession of law enforcement and is trying to make us better by bearing his soul about your incident. I came across this quote while writing my paper on your incident “Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them.” George Eliot. You will never be forgotten.

We went on runs together, did traffic stops together, you had the sense of a blood hound. When my trainee called me and told you were being shot at I left my home to come where you were. But i like so many arrived to late. Your dad did my oral interview. We still miss ya bro.

For some reason, the recent loss of two Indianapolis medics brings me right back to 2001 when you were killed. Maybe it's their young faces that remind me of you. Maybe it's their youth and promise that reminds me of you. Maybe it's their passion for the jobs and making the world a better, safer place.

You were such a great kid. I miss you.

Jason,
I got to know your father unfortunately because of what happened to you. A nicer man/officer you can not meet. He raised you well. And you..... you had the heart of a lion to handle that final call.

I remember...... I remember a young man full of promise and love for his community and department. I remember a warrior who engaged in his final battle without fear or hesitation. You were a man that defined what strength and courage truly are. You were a man who believed in integrity and through your actions lived a life of honor. For that Jason, you will always be my hero..... You will NEVER be forgotten.

It's hard to believe that so much time has passed since the last time I saw your face. I often think about where you would be and the direction your life would have gone in. It's hard not to think about when you wanted to apply in New Orleans and how fate brought us to here and now. You're missed Jason. I just wanted you to know that and to never worry that you'll be forgotten. Do me a favor and tell Dave I said "hello, I miss him and love him." You'll never be forgotten and you'll always be close to my heart....

I wanted to leave something on your page for a long time I just never knew what to say. I remember meeting you at the World Police and Fire Games I was a volunteer and you walked me to my car. We talked as we walked and I told my husband was a police officer and came from a police family you told me your dad was a police officer too. I was shocked a few weeks later when I saw your face on the news. That night after talking to you I knew you wanted to be a police officer for the right reasons it was in your blood. I was not able to get off work to go to your church service but I was able to make to the grave side service. I can still remember it like it was yesterday standing there at Crown Hill. After the service I was stopped at a light near the grave yard and I looked over at the other car and it was your dad and he had the sadest eyes I have ever seen. You are a hero.

My wife's grandfather was a Marion County Deputy Sheriff, Frank F. Woolling which we were unaware of until cleaning up her parents house after their deaths. I myself served with the Phoenix Police Department 1971-2007 and lost personal friends and co-workers during that time period. Only those within the profession can truly understand the passion to serve and go to work each day knowing that the ultimate price may have to be paid. I salute you deputy Baker and I truly believe that kindred spirits of a like mind will meet again in the future. Good rest my brother.

I still remember when you were a snot nose cadet. And of course when you had my back as a Control Op. Then when you got hired as a Deputy and your dreams came true. Funny as i'm thinking of you I remember the last time we worked together which was DUI patrol. You and I shared the same passion to get them off the road! I remember you getting on the radio (because you beat me getting the first DUI of the night) (brat) Anyway, you said "Control, I need a wagon for a adult female and 9 car seats" How not funny for the kids but the way you said it PRICELESS!!!!!!

Miss you my brother!
