I don't know why I even have this site in my favorites. I look here at least twice a week knowing that there will be more names. It is far from my favorites on the computer. I look here and have shed many tears. What hurts the most is all the children and spouses that are left behind. Knowing that my name could be added at any time scares the hell out of me. God only knows why we do what we do.
Be Safe and stay strong,

Jason- I will miss our time together. You always had my back when I needed you. I will miss the softball games, the dinners on the patio telling stories, the way you loved and talked with my new son, and the excitement you held in your heart for your new born daughter. I will miss you my friend. Please watch over me.

Officer Mark Linville
Albany Police Department

Jason was the most amazing, honest, proud, exciting, and caring friends that I have ever had. Jason would support me in anything I ever talked to him about doing. Whether it was career related or just personal issues. It did not matter what was going on in Jason's life he always had time to help and talk with his friends. Becoming a Police Officer was Jason's dream. Jason will always be a mentor for how he served his city, state, and country. Jason's Dreams, Honor, and Integrity will live on. Jason you will be missed, but NEVER forgoten.

Reserve Officer Dustin Wyatt

10 months. Jason you probably weren't even off probation yet. Didn't even have a chance to really see what this great career is all about. God, I hope the rest of us rookies have better luck. God, I wish this didn't happen to you. I wish you didn't have to leave this world like this and i wish you could have had 30 years on the force and lived to be 100. I'm sorry this had to happen to you; but i think your needed elsewhere and although it will be hard, we're gonna let you go. We will never forget you and even though your gone, you will never die inside of us. god bless you and the family.

Alameda County Sheriff's Ofiice

When you are looking down from heaven and see me in danger, please reach down, grab my hand, and pull me from harms way. Only God knows when and why he takes us. It is clear that God needed another angel in heaven, because he called upon one today.

From one Jason to another, God Bless you and your family. We never know do we? You gave your all. Our prayers are with you.
To Jason's family, we love ya'll.

God Speed Officer. It is so sad when we lose an officer, but it is worse when a child loses a father before ever really knowing the true greatness of their father. You, your family and your department are in our prayers.

Lehi Police Department (Utah)

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your department, godbless.

It is heartbreaking to read of this officer's death. To add to the sadness, his child will never know him. I hope this sends a strong message to drivers - it only takes a split second for a tragedy to happen. As an Oregonian that has traveled this vary area hundreds of times... thank you to this officer and others for working to keep I-5 safe.

Once again we in the law enforcment family have lost a brother and a sister. I did not know either Officer but they will be missed for we are all one family, we are all brothers and sisters and as any family will do in these matters we will grieve and mourn our loss. God bless and stay safe.

Jason,
I have such fond memories of the countless hours we spent together on patrol with the S.O. Your smile, positive demeanor, and eagerness to be a part of law enforcement were always uplifting. You will missed, but never forgotten.

This young man's life will never be forgotten. Words can not be said to convey my sadness. I will be praying for this sweet family.

Thank you Officer Hoerauf, for laying down your life for all citizens in your great state. If it weren't for you stopping your vehicle to assist these motorists, they would probably have been killed instantly. It goes to show the public that officers are on the highways doing more than enforcing laws, and they risk their lives doing both. God bless you, your family and friends.

Explorer Sgt. Patrick Siemon

Our heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of Officer Hoerauf, may God Bless you and comfort you always.
