REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER

Superintendent
Neshannock Police Dept.

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face

"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years

The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind

I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last

I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Deputy Jake Kuredjian. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. How many times I think that this same tragedy could befall my family. My father in law is a retired LA County Sheriff's Deputy.

Dear Kuredjian Family,
We don't know you, but you are our family. We celebrate the bravery of your husband and father and hope that you find peace in the coming days with memories of love and shared family experiences. We will pray for all of you that Lord helps heal your hearts and that Jakes's journey home was on the wings of angels.

There is not one officer who deserves to die doing their job. My thoughts and prayers go out to him, his family, and girlfriend.

Deputy Eric Metten
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept.

Your work was not in vain! Your efforts will not be forgotten, You were a hero to your family and friends. It will take a while for your friends and family to get beyond this event, but they must know, you were doing your job, doing it well, and greatly underappreciated! I did not know you, but may your memory be with us forever.

My heart stops when I hear about another fallen officer. God bless the family, friends, and department of this hero. He did not die in vain; he died carrying out his duties and protecting others in order to make life better for all. For this, Jake is a hero.

What can I say. CA lost another great man yesterday. Another great police officer who was trying to do some good. Trying to get the scumbags in jail where they belong so that our neighborhoods are safer for our kids. We have lost yet another family member here in the law enforcement community. Jake will live within all of us who go out there and do the same thing he was trying to do. And because of that fact he will never die. We will all carry out the rest of our duties with the memory of him. We can stand at his grave and cry, but he is not there, he did not die. He is right here with all of us every minute of every day. God bless the family and give them strength. Jake you are now 10-10 and retired. God bless you.

Alameda County Sheriff's Office, CA

I am always saddened by the death of a police officer and wish to send my condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of this young man! My prayers will be with all of you during this very difficult time!

My father has been in law enforcement for over thirty years. I have been in law enforcement for going on eleven years. My little brother has now been in law enforcement for almost three years. There is not a day that goes by that I do not thank God for the time we have had together. There is also not a day that goes by that I do not worry about what the next day holds in store for the three of us. But I do take comfort in knowing that we are working with the best and doing what we were meant to do. My heart goes out to the family and coworkers of Deputy Kuredjian. An officer doing his job....regardless of the consequences....because that is what we do. Rest in peace brother.

I caught this tragic story in passing by a tv showing the news. Again, and like many others it was shocking to hear that on of my Fellow Brothers has fallen victim to this type of crime. It is way too often that we see our Brothers and Sisters under arms taken too soon, and too tragic. It makes us all wonder; Why are we here, why do we do what we do; why are we LEO's????The answer is so easy to see if we are one. This answer can only be answered truthfully by one of us. The answer is, the Love of the job, the want, the need, the desire to do what is right and correct what is wrong. Blood that is shed from a Brother or Sister is really hard to take in. I am currently working overseas, and it hurts to see, hear and feel this even more. I can't be there, I can't help Great Officers like Jake. Right now, all I can do, All we can do is take care of our own. This is truth even after death. Take care of Jake's Family. Never forget the sacrafices that his Family and Deputy Jake did for us. He was there when we called for a drive by, he was there on our side when we needed him. He was a Police Officer, Proud to Serve, Proud to be a Brother in the World that only we can understand. I Pray for the best for his Family. I am Proud that he can go to Heaven with a life story to tell. He will be taken care of there, We all need to take care of Jake's Family. God Bless Jake. We will Pray For You, and Take care of your Dear Ones. My Flag is at Half Mass.

I was sitting at a bus stop this morning in Santa Clarita. A deputy on a motorcycle rode by, just doing his job. Three minutes later, the same deputy sped past me, going the other direction, siren blaring, just doing his job. Deputy Kuredjian was on his way to assist fellow officers, ensure the safety of civilians and just do his job. I did not know what I was witnessing at the time. I did not know of the horrible situation that had unfolded today until I went to pick up my 7 year-old daughter from school and walked into a mass of displaced children, concerned parents, and local deputies trying to hold it all together only a few short hours after losing one of their own. I am profoundly humbled by the knowledge that I was among the last to see Jake Kuredjian alive and I am deeply honored to be amoung those who were protected and served by him.

I pray the Lord will bless your family and your Department. Thank you for your service and great sacrifice. God Speed

Yet another brother of Law Enforcement slain for what cause? Each and everyone of us serve a purpose but to what purpose do we serve. I just lost my own brother in a gun fight, Bill Hunter. A thing like this is not to be gotten over but to be forever reflected upon, remembered and felt. I'm truly sorry for the loss of this great deputy. Your tour in hell is over, Rest in Peace. Be safe out there! Watch your 6-O'Clock! We've all got a new guardian angel watching over us!

Deputy Sheriff Kevin Hunter
Plumas County Sheriff's Office

Our hearts bleed to hear of another brother fallen. But we can stand proud to be able to say that HE IS OUR BROTHER. I just hope that his family knows how much love and support from around the world they have.
