Officer Joseph Adams, HERO, and one of the best examples ever known in this great county and state! I am very greatful that I have been able to hear about your greatness and see first hand the love your family and your brothers in blue have for you. You still live on in more ways than thought. Your experiences, dedication, devotion, and desire for this cause is still very prevelant in this county among the law enforcement community. Although I didn't know you personally you have impacted me. My heart-felt condolences to the family.

4 years ago today Police Officer Joseph Dan Adams walked through the looking glass of service and sacrafice. Although we will forever deeply mourn his murder, we will, more importantly, celebrate his life which was dedicated to the service of family, community and country. All of us who commit our lives to service can only hope to stand in Officer Adam's shadow.

I am the ward mission leader in Hot Springs Arkansas and had the honor to listen to officer Adams story last night from his younger brother( Elder Adams) who is serving here on an LDS mission. There was a good feeling in our home as Elder Adams told us of his brothers shooting, trial of the killer and the healing that has taken place in his family. Elder Adams is a good man and I could feel the respect and love he has for his brother and all officers of the law. I came away feeling just a little different about law enforcement officers. Next time I get pulled over I hope I show it.

Sgt Hendrickson taught our class last night. It was about the use of force. He mentioned Joe, and what a great guy he was. It hits close to home to know that Joe graduated from the same academy that I am now attending. I never knew him personally, but have talked with many who did know him. His name is always spoken of with respect and admiration. Sgt Hendrickson said that Joe died a warrior and a hero that day. Let us all be as safe as possible out there! My daughter brought your book into me for her bedtime story the other night and I read it to her. She asked if I knew the Policeman on the front of the book. I told her that I did and that I got to work with you. I read her the book and she loved it. Thank you for living a good life and being a good example for me and my family. You are a true hero that we will never forget. The book made it easier to tell my daughter about you, and how you died. She said she wanted to meet you someday and I told her she would.

I know you left your presence in Lehi. I worked at a convenience store and any Lehi officer that came in would comment on you. Your brothers and sisters in uniform DO continually remember you, that is for sure. Rest at ease, for you are not forgotten.

Joe,
I think you would be proud of Seth. He speaks of you as his hero and example and because he is such an awesome young man I wish I could have met and known you. You continue to be a light and guide to your family and others. Thank you.

Joe,

It's been over three years. You are still in all of our thoughts. Each time I pass the bridge, I think about you. Each time I look at my little girl, I wish you could gaze upon the face of your son. It seems like those who always had a way of making the day a little brighter, leave us too soon. In you we have lost a friend and an example. We miss you.

I stay in Lehi everytime I go to UT to see a friend. I see you guys on I-15 all the time working hard. I can see you'll be missed and are missed everyday. Congrats on your brother Zach becoming a LPD officer. I know I'll be safe everytime i'm there! Rest in peace.

You've given the ultimate, you can do no more. You went out each and everyday to do your job to help the community you loved. You scarified your life for the job, you knew that was a possibility but never thought it would happen at such a young age. Your watch is over for now, but your just beginning the watch over us all, keep us safe Joe we know your the man. God Bless your family from mine I don't want to ever feel the pain you live everyday.
