Reflections for Police Officer Brian Timothy Strouse

Brian: I always told you "Forever Is My Love" and meant every word of it. You were the love of my life and now you are gone. I Love You So Much and I Miss You so much my heart hurts!!! But as always, "Forever Is My Love!!!"XOXOXO

I always told you that I thought you were the most wonderful man in the world! I still believe that to this day! I also always told you I did not need a ring and a piece of paper to tell you that I would be by your side until the end. What truly mattered in life was the love in our hearts that we had for each other, and that we expressed to each other. For it is the love in our hearts that bonded us, not paper. I am glad I got to be by your side until the end, holding your hand, and I know someday I will see you again and hold your hand again.

You brought so much happiness to my life!!! While you could be terribly stubborn when you wanted to, that is what made you unique and just one of the millions of things that I loved about you. These are the just a handful of the millions of things I loved about you,(though I know you were well aware of them because I told you always and often because we agreed that it was very important to express how we felt: your eyes, your smile, your touch, your laugh, your sense of humor, your sensitivity(Yes Brian, I know I was never supposed to tell people you had this side but I really want the world to know what a terrific man you were and this was part of you), how you could brighten up a room with your presence, how wonderful you were to me, all the things that we got to do together, the things you stood for along with your old school values and morals, your love of history, your love of baseball and sports, your love for the simple things in life, your love for children, your love for your family, your love for your friends, and your heart of gold. You really did have a heart of gold. They definitely broke the mold when they made you.

All the things that we talked about for the future and the dreams we had, that I knew I needed to be patient for, have been shattered by that bullet that took you away from me. I will never forget all of the great times we had together or the love we shared. I only wish I could have more because I truly miss you! You are definitely one-of-a-kind and will be missed by myself, your family and your friends. Take care my Love! I Will Always Love You!!! Again, as always, "Forever Is My Love"!!! XOXOXO

I have lost the brother I never had.
We were the last two of the ugly brothers not married and now I'm alone.
We played ball when we were young and went bar (hop)ping
as we got older, now I'll have to do it alone.
You helped me through bad times when no one else understood, now I will be forced to seek comfort elsewhere.
Sometimes we fought over the same girls and in the end we were still together as they moved on.
The pass 30 years were great being part of your life and I know our paths will cross again were we will resume were we left off.
I love you "Big Bear", and you will never be forgotten.

Strouse House,

I can't even put into words how much the Ugly Brothers are going to miss you. I deal with your passing minute by minute. I wish you were here so that I could tell you I love you one more time. Even though we enjoyed 24 years together it wasn't nearly enough. I hope and pray that the Ugly Brothers will someday be reunited up in heaven, but not for a very long time....GO CUBBIES

To a brother, a friend of 30 years, and a ugly brother.
You will never die, cause your in my heart forever.
I miss you, but know your in a better place and your not alone and we will meet again.
I will finish all of your unfinished business down here,
I promise as we spoke.
I love you and always will.

I DO NOT USUALLY LEAVE REFLECTIONS ON THE ODMP BUT FELT COMPELED TO THIS TIME. AFTER READING SEVERAL OF THE REFLECTIONS I REALIZED THAT OFFICER STROUSE WAS A FORMER MARINE. BEING A FORMER MARINE MYSELF AND A POLICE OFFICER FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS, I KNOW THE HUGE SACRIFICES BRIAN HAS MADE IN BOTH PROFESSIONS. NOW I KNOW THE STREETS OF HEAVEN ARE GUARDED BY YET ANOTHER POLICE OFFICER AND A UNITED STATES MARINE. SEMPER FI.....

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family at this time. I know that across this nation we all feel the pain each time we lay one of our own to rest. Blessings~

Just over a year ago, a minor took the life of one of, "my boys." Now a minor has taken one of yours. How is it that someone so young can go so wrong as to take the life of a Peace Officer? These two boys cannot possibly understand that they have taken someone's life. They have taken the life of someone who swore to protect theirs. It can never be given back.

I have heard that call for help. No matter the code that is used... 10-1, 10-10, or 999. It chills my blood to think of it. I wish that no dispatcher ever have to hear it again.

Brian, it is obvious here that your brothers love you. You are loved and missed by many. Your life was not taken in vain. Please watch over the rest of us. Sit on every Rookie's shoulder. Admire every seasoned Veteran's antics. Bring calm and steady hand to every Dispatcher and Jail Officer. And Justice will be done.

Somebody killed a police officer today and a part of America died,a piece of our country he swore to protect will be buried at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court, with his counsel demanding his rights, while a young widow must work for their kids and spend many long lonley nights.

The beat that he walked was a battlefield too, just as if he had gone off to war. Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast.To the case at 11th and state they will add his worn star.Yes, somebody killed a police officer today. It happened in your city or mine. While we slept in the confort behind our locked doors,a cop put his LIFE on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street, and he stands at each recruit's side. He answered the call he gave us his all and this day a part of America died... My prayers go our to you in your moment of loss. He did not die in vain. Please remember, he gave his life so that WE all can't be safe.

Today I stood on a curbside and saluted a hero who was laid to rest. With mixed emotions, officers and citizens stood together and honored a man who gave his life for the community he served. He will not be forgotten for his sacrifice. I pray his family and friends will find peace and always cherish Brian's memory.
God Bless and Stay Safe.
