As my career winds down, I remember my fallen Brother. I sat one table over from you during the Academy. And during these 21 years, I have never forgot you. May you continue to protect us from heaven.

18 years ago... Seems weird to think I was just 18 when we met...
Meghan turned 18 and just graduated High School! You were well represented by Metro! and our Local Law Enforcement community! She will be off to college before I know it...
Josh is doing great as a father to our grandbabies! They are the sweetest... Little Marlon (Mo) reminds me so much of you... so serious and then all it takes is the hint of a smile and then he's glowing! They just love each other... Charlotte's hair is so long... I tell Josh this is why we couldn't cut his hair... those curls were too cute!!
Jeramy just turned 29! I'm so not sure how that happened... I wish I could go back to 29! You would be so proud of each of the kids... or I guess I should say Adults! Continue to watch over us...

On September 18, 2017... Josh, Paige, and Charlotte welcomed the newest addition to the family! A handsome little man... named after 2 great father's... Marlon Francisco Eugene Morales... Josh wanted to honor his father... and Paige wanted to also honor the wonderful man that helped raise her into the amazing young lady she is... They couldn't be better parents (and big sister!)

Charlotte loves to give him kisses... and the she wants me to give him a kiss... then it's her turn again... She is learning her body parts and now has a little guy to show his eyes, nose, and just learned where hers and Marlito's chin is!! She loves to read... and will even read to her baby brother...

Oh, how I wish you could be here to enjoy our grandbabies...

Your beautiful daughter turned 16 on us this year... she's so busy and independent... Between School, Cheer, and Dance... Please keep an eye out on her... I'm very proud of how she handles herself... She definitely keeps me on my toes!

Jeramy is grown! How can he be 27 already!? He took on a huge role at work this year... He handles himself so well... So proud of each of our kids... You would be too...

Today we missed you at Charlotte's 1st Birthday party! You would be so proud of what a great Daddy your son is to our sweet sweet girl! We catch her Loking off in the distance...and hope to find comfort that maybe you get to take a peek at how sweet she is...

It's so hard to comprehend 16 years have passed since you left for work... never to return home to us... so many special events missed... but know that you are never far from our thoughts... it's hard to explain to someone how the happy days... have a bit of sadness, missing you... knowing how much you loved our kids... little Charlotte would have you wrapped around her little fiinger... just like the rest of us!

Never forgotten, always remembered...

I know you continue to watch over us! Hard to believe that 15 years have passed... We welcomed our first granddaughter into the world 3 days ago!! June 10! She weighed in at 10lbs, 3 oz and 21 1/2"!! She is as beautiful as can be!! She is surrounded by so many that love her already!! Josh is going to rock this Dad thing!! I see the same look on his face when he looks at Charlotte as you did looking at Meghan... Meghan has her drivers permit!! So she needs your extra attention!! She has a good head on her shoulder... So she does pretty good... But could always use her Daddy's watchful eye! I will always love you... Never forgotten, always remembered.

I saw where LEO's came out to support your little girl's graduation. What a lovely daughter you have, and what good LEO's to be there for her.

So sorry you didn't get a chance to watch her grow up.

Officer Morales, thank you for your service in the United States Army and for your all to brief service helping to protect the Metro DC Transit System. You are truly a hero. I can only hope that your murderer is still in prison or if not, that he left, not under his own power.

God Bless you, Brother and may you continue to Rest in Peace. Though if you're having a good time in Heaven, keep it up for your Daughter's sake. Her post is very touching and I too have a daughter named Meghan.

Starting watching home videos... and to hear your voice again... priceless... just wish you weren't so camera shy! Meghan can't get enough of the video of the day she was born... oh how I wish she could feel your arms around her today...

May you continue to watch over us from above... We all love and miss you...

I can hardly believe its been 12 years...

Jeramy turns 23 today... You would be so proud of him... He reminds me of you in his demeanor... I always get compliments on what a great young man he is...

Josh is 20... He will be a Junior this fall at St. Ambrose... Rented a house and moving out this summer... He looks so much like you... He is doing so well in life... You would be so proud...

Today on National Peace Officers Memorial Day I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of our children... I asked Meghan if she wanted to do something special for National Police Week and she decided to pass out blue ribbons and goodies to our local Police Departments! We are heading to 5 local departments today!

You are never far from our thoughts... Thanks for watching over us...

I attended the academy with Marlon, but I must admit that I did not know him well as we were in different squads. I was with the Arlington County Sheriff's Office when your husband passed away. I attended his funeral and still have vivid mental images of the firefighters standing at attention on the highway overpasses... and civilians standing on the side of the road with hands-on-hearts as the massive motorcade went by. It was powerful in both its beautiful sincerity and deep, deep sorrow.

More than a decade later I find myself teaching Law Enforcement Occupations at two high schools in Orange County, CA. I share your husband's story with my students... even though my eyes water every time. During this discussion the students are respectful and listen silently. They recognize his sacrifice. They get a glimpse of your loss.

I share this with you because I hope it brings a small measure of comfort; to know that he's still having a positive influence on people. In some way I hope that helps a little. Kids who never met "Morales" have learned from him today.

I wish you and your family well.

Arlington County Sheriff's Office

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 11th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
