Reflections for Lieutenant Christopher Neal Claypool

Lt,

We had a nice gathering today to see the new street sign on Refugee Rd named in your honor. A big group of Officers along with your son Brian and old friends came by. I assure you that the FOP, CPD, and the Community did not forget you.

Today I learned that the memorial bearing your name, and the names of numerous other heroes was vandalized. 8 days from today will be 20 years, 11 days from what would have been your 60th birthday. Thank you Chris for your public service, thank you for being a wonderful cousin. You’re missed. Love you.

Hard to believe it has been 19 years! Thank you for instilling in me some of your leadership traits that I observed from you while you were my 3rd shift Relief Lt.. Every single day I use them as I lead my people. I will always cherish the friendship of your family that developed soon after your passing. God Bless you Lt. and always the Claypool family!

19 years has passed since I held you in my arms as your life slipped away. It feels as if it was last night. Many move on but every evening that sound recycles in my mind that I can’t let it go.
Much love Lt.
God bless you

Thought of you today when I saw a tribute to other officers that lost their lives. The Columbus State Training aircraft. Knowing you were a special duty officer at Columbus State Community College when I was there. You are missed so very much by many and never forgotten. RIP

You were my lieutenant on 3rds for just a short time, but I learned so much from you regarding how to “lead those that you work for and alongside” your leadership style was a “cops cop” type of style. You are missed by many, Rest in Peace LT...

Hard to believe it has been 14 years.. I will always remember that tragic night and responding to the scene then escorting the medic to Grant.. The relationship and bond that has developed over the years with your son Brian and Tami/Nicole between me/ my family will always be cherished..I practice today in leading my people from some of what I learned from you-- a "lead from the front" leader.. Thanks for your sacrifice and God Bless the Claypool family each and everyday.. .

Chris, your family and friends lost you 10 years ago yesterday. Today, we had three officers shot during a shootout with the suspect of a quadruple homicide. All three of them, thankfully, will recover. Somehow, I think you had a hand in that. Bless you.

You are still missed.
