My thoughts are with your loved ones today on this 6th anniversary of your EOW. I know the pain is still in the hearts of those that love you dearly, especially your mother who I know would trade places with you in a heartbeat, as I would with my son, so that you could both be here with your loved ones and continue working in law enforcement, another love of your life. Continue to keep watch over your loved ones, protect them and also those still out on patrol. You will never be forgotten.

Robbie,
I barely got a chance to know you but had the chance to talk with you in the parking lot a few times at shift change. I can't begin to express how much those moments mean to me now. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

To the family and friends of Patrolman Robert J. Ventura:

As the holiday season approaches I would like to offer you these thoughts. You have been blessed in this lifetime to have known, loved, and shared your lives with Patrolman Robert Ventura. I never met him or you and your family, but from past reflections, he sounds like he was a wonderful person.

I too share the bond of the "brotherhood" as I worked for a police and fire department and my boyfriend is a career fireman. The bond is unique and characteristic of greatness nearly indescribeable by those on the outside looking in. You as his family understand this too.

As the holiday season is upon us and yet another anniversary approaches, know that your son, husband, and father is thought of and prayed for by even those of us not fortunate enough to have met him. Lean on your friends and family, especially his brothers in blue. They too are a family for life and will always be there to share in your fondest of memories and sad ones too.

I will pray for peace for Robert and your family. I will pray that now and in the future you can experience hope, love, and joy that this advent season brings to us. To live on is to honor.

Peace be with you,

Susan

To Patrolman Robert Ventura, his wife and two children, his mother Theresa, and other loved ones:

On this the fifth anniversary of your tragic death, please know that your memory is honored and revered today.

I am so saddened when I read a memorial page of yet another young officer who lost their life in the line of duty when he or she should have enjoyed so many more years on this earth.
My heart goes out to your family. You’re in our thoughts and our prayers.

To his mother, I share your agony of having lost a child in the line of duty. No parent should have to bear this anquish, and I see from your reflections that your life has been forever changed and the one thing most constant is your love for Robert which will never fade.

Robert, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Patrolman Robert Ventura. I am humbled by your valor, courage, and dedication.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Patrolman Ventura gave to his community and the citizens of New Jersey, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 18, 2001.

Phyllis Loya, mother of fallen officer Larry Lasater, Pittsburg PD, eow 4/24/05

I am often reminded of Robert, anytime I'm standing outdoors under grey clouds in the cold and wind-driven rain.

It is then that I recall the ladder truck that carred Robert home and the Russian phrase, "A day so sad that even Mother Nature cried".

But then, I remember how the sun reappeared as the pipes ceased and the last salute sounded on that day and I am comforted in the thought that, just as the cold rain ends and the warmth returns, Robert smiles upon us all.

My deepest sympathy to the Ventura family and to and to the officer's that knew and worked with him. I grew up in Lakewood (my bother mike is a patrolman there) and though I did not know Robert, he was a fellow officer as is anyone that's on the job. (ST. Michael is by your side)
