Found you on Ancestry - you are my 3rd cousin and I had lost track of your great-grandfather after he found himself on the wrong side of the law in Georgia. His brother became the 1st magistrate of Paulding County, Ga but the other family members had to leave the state. They were not bad men, just men of the time. You are the great-great-grandson of Captain William York who led a 'troop of horse' in NC during the American Revolution.
God Bless You and Thank You and it makes me so truly sad that you lost your life so young - I was a widow at 24, so I can sincerely know your wife and her grief, and I had two children while she had three.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 116th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect and you will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace
