Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.

Thank you for your heroism.

This happen because of a officer who was careless not thinking
and in result the officer who had the gun should of been more careful and perhaps used a different method to gain control instead not thinking ahead he killed his chief. Very poor way of dealing with the situation is what killed this chief not the gun..
The Human... PERIOD not acceptable ...

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 82nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

To Police Chief Troutman and all those who care about his memory:

Chief Troutman, many years ago you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You were one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication were awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly were better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Chief Troutman. I am humbled by your valor, courage, and dedication. I will say a special prayer for you at the monument where your name is engraved in Washington when I am there this May.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Chief Troutman gave to his community and the citizens of North Carolina, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 9, 1927.
