Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jason Charles Schwenz

Dep. Schwenz,

I am reminded of your brave actions each time I pass the signs on Rt. 50 dedicated to your service. You were truly a great officer who gave your life to protect the lives of others. You are definately a hero in my book.

IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS AND 7 MONTHS SINCE YOU WERE TAKEN FROM US. WE STILL REMBER AND WILL NEVER FORGET WHO YOU ARE. I KNOW YOU BROUGHT THE MAN WHO IS NOW MY HUSBAND TO ME. YOU PICKED ONLY THE BEST. THE ONE WHO TREATS ME THE JUST THE SAME WAY AS YOU WOULD HAVE. YOU ARE STILL LOVED AND GREATLY MISSED. KEEP WATCH OVER YOUR FAMILY AND MINE. MAKE SURE OUR OFICERS COME HOME SAFE AT THE END OF THEIR SHIFT.

It has been 2 years 6 months and 5 days ago that you were taken from us. I remember it like yesterday. I miss you so much, and I wish that we and I had "just one more day" with you. Love and miss you

Remembering you on your birthday. I was reminded of you from your Mom's memorial in the paper. My husband and I attended your funeral, along with Officer Nickerson's, too. You both are not forgotten. We do the same job so that you didn't die in vain. Keep watching over us!

Jason:

I did not know you in life , however I have gotten to know you through your friends and family during the trial. It would have been a great honor to have worked with you. You are a hero, and will always be. May God bless you and your family.

YOUR SENSE OF DUTY AND HUMOR WILL ALWAYS STAY WITH ME, YOU MADE IT A POINT TO COME AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO ME WHEN YOU CAME ON THE JOB, AFTER ALL THE CALLS TO FIND OUT IF YOU HAD BEEN HIRED! THAT MADE A LASTING IMPRESSION ON THIS OLD DISPATCHER, YOU THEM BECAME ONE OF MY "KIDS". I KNOW THAT HEAVEN IS TRULY A BETTER PLACE AND YOU ARE IN REALLY GOOD COMPANY IN THOSE THAT HAVE SERVED AND GONE BEFORE YOU, JUST DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING THEY TELL YOU!!! KEEP SMILING, I KNOW THAT YOU ARE.

DIANA TARRANT

the fact that you went out of your way to come and introduce yourself to me when you came on the job made a lasting impression on me, after all the phone calls prior! your sense of humor was really appreciated. Heaven is truly a better place, and believe me you are in good company, with those who have gone before you they too were the best!

It isn't how these people died that made them heroes...It's how they lived. The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion.

For those of us in Queen Anne's County and those of us entering the law ebforcement community, you and Mike have been an inspiration. Though you died so young with so much more to do, God had his place for your in the front lines of his patrol. We wish in vain that you could have stayed awhile longer but we know that you were meant for God's duty. You are missed more than you know. Thank you for your dedication.
