Alfredo was a great officer and very dedicated to his job. Many times he was still on the radio answering calls while the resp of the shift was going home. He will truely be missed and never forgotten.

ON THE MORNING IT HAPPENED DAVE AND I CAME INTO YOUR FINAL DAYSHIFT BRIEFING WHICH WAS UNUSUAL BECAUSE WE WERE TIRED. MAYBE GOD LET US SAY GOODBYE THAT MORNING. THE FINAL WORDS I HEARD YOU SPEAK AFTER CRACKING A JOKE WERE "I'M JUST HAVING FUN IN MY OWN LITTLE WORLD". YOU CERTAINLY WERE. GOD BLESSED ME AS A YOUNG DEPUTY AT THE TIME BY ALLOWING ME TO KNOW YOU. YOU WERE A TRUE ROLE MODEL AND I STILL WEAR THE MEMORIAL BRACELET BEARING YOUR NAME EVERY NIGHT ON DUTY. ALMOST FEELS LIKE IM NOT ALONE ON PATROL. THANK YOU "FREDO" FOR BEING WHO YOU WERE. "LEE COUNTY 454....LEE COUNTY 454, 454 IS 10-07, GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN".

WE LOVE YA AL.

Deputy Alfredo Banos was my friend and the most giving person that I know. He will remain in my thoughts and prayers. I was in Tallahassee to see the honoring of my fallen brother on 05-06-02. God Bless you Deputy Alfredo Banos.

I retired from the Indianapolis Police Department in May of 1998 and relocated in South Fort Myers in a condo I had for several years. With all my new found spare time I was a regualar at the Naples-Ft. Myers Greyhound track and had the opportunity to talk with their security personnel who were mostly retired coppers from all over. In June of 1998 I was hired as a security officer at the track and as a result of this I met Alfredo Banos. Sadly, today November 28th,2001 I learned of his passing at this site. Truly a good guy and a professional Police Officer. I have returned to Indianapolis and am currently a reserve officer. I return to Ft. Myers as often as I can. As a matter of fact I am flying there tomorrow. I will never forget my brother Al. Lee County you lost a good one. He cared.
