I know this time of year is very hard on your family and friends. I think of you often and I wish you were still here. Even though I didn't know you I know what you stood for and that's all that matters to me. Rest easy Warrior.

Officer Aubrey Hawkins' death had an impact on me although I never met the man. I was working for a TV station in Irving, Texas that night and was just a couple miles away from where the incident took place. I remember hearing about it on the news at around 0500 that morning and I cried at the thought of his wife and son waking up on Christmas morning to find that daddy was gone.

I damned the "Texas Seven" and wished them all to burn in hell.

I became a Police Officer the next year and frequently thought about Officer Hawkins. Every Christmas Eve since 2000 I pray for Officer Hawkins and his family. If I am working I type out a short message about Officer Hawkins over our CRIMES chat for other Officers to see.

May God bless you and your family Officer Hawkins.

My heart ached horribly as I watched Officer Hawkins hug his little boy on the video included in the episode of Criminal Pursuit on the Texas Seven. I know you are a grown up now son, but I hope you feel your dad close to you in everything you do. Watching over you, protecting you.... I know he's there because if anything ever happened to me, I know I would stay with my children to protect them until the day their time came to join me. Blessings to you and your family.

I have just came across this terrible story on television and am deeply saddened for the officer and his family. This story brought me to tears . I pray for him and his family and know that god has a special job in heaven for Aubrey, watching over his family and all the great officers on patrol risking their lives everyday to keep peace where all others sleep in peace every day. May Aubreys family have lots of faith peace and love and know that he is in heaven watching over them and waiting for them to join him in heaven. He and his family are Angels among all of us in law enforcement. God bless

I remember going to White Rock Skating rink as kids and meeting up with friends including Aubrey and I remember that smile, he had such a sweet face and was a sweet boy, unlike the most of those boys back then. His name and face stuck with me and when I heard about this when it happened and saw his face I knew it was him and my heart broke for his wife and child. I will never forget those awful days while those men were running and was so relieved they got caught and are now where they deserve to be. Rest in Peace Aubrey.....

God bless your family. I was hired as an officer the week before your death by another agency in the metroplex, and my hiring officer asked if your murder changed my mind on becoming an officer. Absolutely not, if anything it reinforced the reason I wanted to become an officer. You are remembered and your life was precious.
