Scooby and I served together This was my third assignment when I meet Scooby and I never meet someone that always had a good thing to same and a smile on their face. Scooby may have had a bad day but I never knew it. It broke my heart when I heard. My god bring his family peace. God bless my brother

Scooby, in not even 2 Weeks it is 20 Years ago that you recieved the call to a better place. So many times I remember the fun we had together when we were stationed on Rhein Main Air Base in Germany. I am blessed to have had you as a friend. I will never forget you.

It seems like yesterday we ran the halls it Graceland Jr. high. Clay aka Scooby you will be always be remembered. It was you who talked me into joining the USAF and afterwards becoming a police officer. I'm so blessed to have had you as a best friend, counselor and fellow Airman. You will never be forgotten.

It’s strange, I just started thinking about you tonight Scooby. Although I left a message back in 2007, I was compelled to come back to your page. Crazy that it’s almost 19 years to the day. Clayton was not only my troop in Germany, he was a friend. He could always put a smile on your face. Scooby I just wanted to drop by and say you’ll never be forgotten. Rest easy my brother in blue.

I am certainly without words to read about this officer and such an injustice that he received. Anyone who Kills an officer should be immediately hung by the neck until dead.

42 Months for killing a Police Officer. I cannot imagine such a weak sentence when the life of this fine Officer was cut short. Rest in peace sir, you deserved better.

Hey Scooby, It's Amanda!! The one who's mom called the police station back in 1999 (at the time I was only 13 yrs old) and wanted someone to come out to their home and speak with her daughter about making the right choices in life.. And you were the one that received the call and came out to my home... But what made you so special was after that call you continued to stop by to see how my grades were in school, we would talk about wrestling and how I was progressing as a young lady.. Well hopefully you will smile down on the fact that I have 1 year left to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Human Resources. I am now 29 and is proud to say that I blossomed very well with the help of your encouraging words. Sorry that it took so many years for me to give thanks but for some reason you were thought of today... You are truly missed and thank you for services while you were here!! MUCH LOVE!!

42 months for a human life. What a tragedy. I am so sorry your killer wasn't sentenced to death as should have been.

Scooby, now its been 12 years that you are gone. From time to time I stop by on your memorial side. For me as one of the German Officers and your friend that worked with you on Base I see with happiness, that even after most of us lost contact after we left Rhein Main Air Base, we are back togehter on your memorial side to remember you and remember the great time we had with you.

As SSgt Luce commented, I was also stationed with Officer Hicks at Rhein-Main AB, Germany when we were young Airmen. Being in the military and moving around, we aren't always able to keep in touch, especially before social networking, so I lost touch with him when I left Germany. Honestly, when I recently heard of Scooby's murder, I had no words. ....I had just gone through my military pictures and saw a picture of us sitting in our dorm room together prior to my departure. I can't express how proud I am to have known him and served our country with him. It is simply amazing how the scumbag who murdered him was only sentenced to 42 months.....how does that happen?? The 435th Security Police Squadron was the best in USAFE because of Clayton....and we will never forget him. God Bless Clayton and his family.

I was good friends with Clayton "Scooby" Hicks while stationed at Rhein Main AB GE from 1993-1995 & like a lot of us in the Military we lost touch, and this weekend we had a reunion of the 435th Security Police Squadron, Rhein Main AB, Germany where I learned of Scooby's untimely death at the hands of a repeat offender thug. While I'm here to say some kind words about Scooby, I also researched and found the transcripts from the trial and it makes me sick that the Thug that killed my friend only received 42 months for his crime. It made me even more sick when my wife found the thugs Myspace and got to see him enjoying himself while Scooby paid the ultimate price for his service to his Community, State, and the United States of America, he will not be forgotten. As for Scooby he was a great easy going friend who enjoyed life and always remained calm even when others were at there worst and that is why knowing my friends killer is out walking the streets makes me sick. To Scooby's family and friends I just wanted to offer my condolences from myself and all his friends with the 435th SPS, we love and miss are Air Force Security Police Brother.

My condolences to his family, friends, and fellow officers. I am rather outraged right now that Officer Hicks' killer only received 42mos. If I read the info correctly, this officer was taken away from his friends and relatives 12yrs ago. Simple math would show that the perp has been REUNITED with his for no less than 8yrs now. I sure hope the judge that gave such a light sentence did not stay on the bench long. The summary indicates that even though he was off duty, he was killed because he was a LEO. That deserved alot longer than 42mos.

Scooby,

I still cant believe what I just read. Everytime I look at the Photos from the Good Old Rhein Main Times, I remember the good friendship and all the fun we had. It was very sad for me, that we didnt stay in contact wen you got out of the military. After you told me, that you will be a Police Officer in the States, you promised me to always watch out. I know that a lot of the people from the Team Rhein Main will miss you too. Your friend Andy

Hello my Blue Angel, Hicks this world is so crazy and God called you home first to make a place for the rest of your family and all Police Officers. There is not a day that I don't think about you and there was a good reason why we met. I see that you are at work because it had been a few years since I seen our other brother Ofc. Sinnock and you placed us together 2 times recenlty. My Blue Angel keep up the good work in protecting all Officers and know that I will forever love you and cherish your memory. Rest in Peace and one day we will see one another again.
