Reflections for Police Officer Daniel Stanley MacClary

Just wanted you to know you are not forgotten. I still tell the story of that boat trip we took to Cherokee Steak house and coming back in the pitch dark! I have so many other stories and I wont forget them or stop telling them! I hope Danielle and Abbey know they are still thought of by your friends at HPD. Miss you!

Danny, Although I never met you, Your impression has been left on the department. As a new officer to the force, I want you to know that around every corner I hear your name mentioned everyday. I would like to thank you for watching over our community, and to let you know that still today they speak highly of you. May God bless you and your family for generations to come for your dedication. And again Thank you.

Danny, we all miss you here at the police department. I remember when I started January 2000 and I was new to police work. You never treated me like a rookie and you were always the first to help me whenever I had a question. I think about you often and still meet many people in the public who still ask how your family is doing. We miss you and will never forget you.

IT HAS BEEN SIX YEARS SINCE YOU GAVE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFIC. I KNOW YOUR FAMILY FEELS LIKE IT WAS ONLY YESTERDAY. IT DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN SO YOUNG. AS PARENTS, WE OFTEN THINK OF WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. IT IS SO HARD TO CONTINUE. BUT WE DO. YOU ARE ALWAYS IN OUR THOUGHTS EVERY DAY.
TO THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS OF OFFICER MACCLARY: PLEASE TAKE COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT HE IS NOT FORGOTTEN. HE WAS A HERO.

I visited you a couple of weeks ago while in Hendersonville. I cant believe that it's been almost six years. I think about you often, and fill bad for not doing a better job of keeping in touch with Debbie, Abby and Danielle. Everything I've heard about Abby is that she is just like you, I'm sure that that is a blessing to Debbie. Danielle has graduated and is surely making you extremely proud. So many things have changed, some good, some not so good, but one thing will remain the same and that is that everyone who knew you will always remember you and miss you. Keep the streets up there clean and safe, others of us will be there to help before you know it. God bless you and your family. I miss you

Hey guy. Was thinking about you today and thought I would pull up the memorial. It's amazing how even after a person is gone from Earth they still have an impact on you after all these years. You are missed greatly, but not forgotten.

Although it's been over 5 years and I haven't lived in TN in as many years I still think of you often. I will never forget you and the rest of our B-detail brotherhood. You were always the life of the party, whether it was on a call or in roll call. Till the day the Lord calls me home I will always remember you and smile. You are "gone but not forgotten"....ever

Daddy I miss you so much. You dont understand how much everything has changed. This year has been hard so me because I graduate in May and knowing that you wont be there cheering me on breaks my heart. I wish I could say that Abby is beautiful and all but I dont get to see or talk to her. I promise once she gets old enough to understand she will know what an amazing father she has. You really were my best friend daddy. At George's death Grammy needed you real bad. I hope your keeping Grandpa George safe up there. I love you so much daddy and I miss you. I hope your still proud of me and you brag about me to everyone up in heavan. I really wish you were here...life would be so much happier. After almost 5 1/2 years im still hoping for a phone call from you saying that you love me. I love you Daddy.

Brother MacClary,

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Respectfully,
You’re Brothers in Blue

To the family and friends of Officer Daniel MacClary and fellow officers in the Hendersonville Police Dept., and most especially to Danny:

Today has been five years and one day since the tragic death of Officer MacClary. His valor and bravery will never be forgotten. His memory is being honored and revered today.

In reading the reflections about Danny, it is obvioius he was loved by many amd well respected by his peers. I am glad that Danielle has such wonderful memories of her father, and knows that she passes them on to her baby sister. I know that Danny still watches over his family and friends.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the years of distinquished service Danny gave to his community and the citizens of Tennessee, and to his country through his military service, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on September 27, 2000.

I thought about you today as I spoke to a good friend of mine. The one thing we focused on is the one true gift you had, the ability to walk out of a room and leave everyone behind laughing. That is something you had that everyone relates to you. That is something that God gave you and I'm sure you have Him rolling on the golden streets right now. I think of you often, Thanks for the memories. A brother in Blue A brother in Christ..Till we meet again.

4 years and 3 months today. Does not seem possible that you are gone. Even though it seems like yesterday when we were running crazy in Georgia. Still thinking you you.

I knew Danny from the nights he worked at the Bowling Alley. I was younger then, and remember him always joking around with all the young people he met. Danny was a character, that's for sure. It broke my heart when I heard what had happened, and then seen the accident scene as I drove down Gallatin Road. I no longer live in Hendersonville, but I still think about Danny to this day. He was truely a great officer, and a great man. May god bless you Danny.
