~~~To those I Love and Those Who Love Me~~~
When I am gone, release me, Let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while if indeed you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart,
I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll
Hear all of my love around you soft and clear
And when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say,
"Welcome Home"
Kevin,
It is, indeed, a small world! You didn't know me but I stopped by the Police Memorial in front of Division 1 HQ a few days after your funeral.  It was a humbling experience to see the names of all the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in performing their duties.
Your name was the last name to appear on the memorial. I reflected on that.
It is only now that I found out that I've been friends with a cousin of yours who I met in Vermont years ago.  I attended her wedding and I'm good friends with her and her husband.  She just sent me an E-mail telling me about your death, not knowing that I was already familiar with it and had visited the memorial.
She was so pleased with the huge turn out of officers at your funeral and the support of the people of Cincinnati and the Police Department's support of the family.
You come from a great family.  Rest In Peace.
OFFICER KEVIN WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED BY ME AS "KEVIN". HE WAS CONSIDERED THE BRAIN IN OUR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS. HE WAS ALWAYS VERY QUITE,PLEASANT AND HAD AWAY OF GETTING BROWNING POINTS WITH THE TEACHERS(SMILE)
HE WAS ALSO REMEBERED BEST BY HIS CURLY HAIR. THE CLASS OF " FOREST PARK,1977" WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU NOT ONLY AS A HERO,BUT AS OUR KEVIN.
Kevin,
I never knew you, however, I thank you for making the streets of our beloved city safe. My prayers are with you, your family and all the members of District 5. God bless you and again, thank you,
Kev,
Your picture along with a tribute from the citizens of Mt. Airy adorn my desk. Rememberances of walking the beat together are still fresh in my mind. Even being mistaken as you by citizens in the community help keep your memory alive. May the love of Christ rest, rule and abide in us all henceforth and forever more.........Amen. I miss you brother.
