Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Oscar Clarence Hill, IV

We had our 30 yr class reunion tonight. Your name was mentioned among us, and your name was displayed on a table honoring those in our class who have gone on. I remember when we both lived on Beulah Land Road and we would laugh like little kids do. I would ride my horse to your house and see you. That kind smile. Rest In Peace, Oscar. Class of 92 from NHS is proud of you.

Just thinking about you. I miss you so much, your smile, your goofy laugh, jet skiing in the summer. You were taken way too soon. Still think about you all the time.

I've really been missing you Little O. I wish I could have just one day for you to hang out with your nephew Wally. 15 years old now Lol! Almoat driving. Hes amazing. Fishes, hunts, welds, forges, and will be driving in less than a year. YOUR car as I understand. :)
Its been a rough year, for everybody. I'd give anything to crack a beer with you. I love and miss you big brother. RIP.

Missing you terribly little O. Randi is gone now too. Its a crazy world. I love and miss you every day, you would be so proud of your nephew,, my baby boy (15) Wally. He has always known about you, always will. He excels at forging and welding, is the best hunter, and the sweetest, but toughest baby boy I could ask for. I think you'd be really proud of him. I just miss you. Love you brother. I've shed a lot of tears over you.

Probably my best friend growing up. You were always in my corner. I'm grateful that I got a chance to know you. I will never forget talking our way out of a fight at RA camp. You were there in case there was a scrap and, honestly, were probably a little disappointed that I was such a smooth talker. Always ready to run into the battle, especially on behalf of those who were in need of protection. Miss you bro.

Still miss you Little O, every year I spend this day reflecting on you. Any more would be crushing. I wish you could meet your nephew Wally. Almost as tall as dad now, same size foot, and going to highschool this year. I miss you ever day and always wonder where you would be now. RIP

Oscar,

It has been ten years since my last reflection on here. I have retired and come back to Law Enforcement twice since then. It is because of missing being around good guys like you that keeps bringing me back. I often think of you and Barry and wonder what kind of lives and careers you would have had. Semper Fi, my friend. Until Valhalla...

I remember coming to work at IPC on mids, and talking with Oscar on numerous occasions... I remember the night that I answered the call that came in to IPC to verify him, and report of this travesty. I don't think I'll ever forget that call, or the smile that always seemed to be on Oscar's face.

When out and sat with you on your 40th Birthday last weekend. Not sure why we were the only ones there that hot Sunday afternoon. It was a good chat as always. I just wish I could have thanked you in person for helping me before you left us for a far better place.

Of all the goofy-assed things you ever said around me, "It's all fun and games until somebody's mom gets pregnant," is the one stuck in my head. And I hated that one. But there it is.

I can not believe it has been 13 years. I remember our last visit with you in the hospital. Things were so positive and the laughter between you an Barry was contagious. Never would I believe both of you would be gone before the year was over. You are both missed so much.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 13th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. He was also your fellow Marine so I bid you semper fi and thank you for your service in the Corps.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
