Reflections for Police Officer Kevon Malik Gavin

Kevon,

I look at your picture from time to time when we were in the police academy together. I will always remember your kindness and your great heart. May God bless your family, and you are still remembered by your friends.

What an unbearably senseless tragedy and a terrible loss to the City of Baltimore. Though I didn't know this brave yuong officer, he was a brother. We all share in the grief.

He now walks the streets of Heaven with St. Michael. My thoughts and prayers go to his family, friends, colleagues and the department. God Bless and be safe.

KEVON, I DID NOT KNOW YOU PERSONALLY BUT I HAVE HEARD SO MANY WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT YOU. AS I SIT IN ROLL CALL AND SEE YOU LOOKING BACK AT ME I AM CONSTANTLY REMINDED OF WHAT YOU HAVE GIVEN THE CITY OF BALTIMORE. I WAS AT MY FIRST OFFICER'S FUNERAL THE OTHER DAY.. OFFICER SHEFFEILD. I PRAY THAT YOU ALL KNOW HOW MUCH YOU ARE MISSED AND APPRECIATED.

GOD BLESS.

Kevon,
Hey bro...It's almost been a year since you were taken from us. I remember meeting you for the first time, at that search warrant on Monroe Street. It was my first ride along as a cadet. I know that being a cop meant everything to you, and I can honestly tell you that you have touched many lives, including mine. I miss you, dude. You were one of my first friends in the police, and I'll never forget you.

Still thinking about you and your family. God bless! You are a hero and will never be forgotten for the ultimate sacrifice you made. Despite the freedom of your killer, know it wasnt in vain.
