Ricky and I attended Morris Brown College together. He was a fun guy and loved to talk. I will always remember your happy spirit and the fun times we shared together. I am proud to have known you.

I did not know this family personally. The news reported the homegoing service and I remember the wife holding and rubbing the small box that held his award. I'm emotional today thinking about it, 19 years later.
Overflowing of blessings to the family and friends.

I met Ricky only a few times, as I was employed with a Private Investigation company in Tucker, Georgia. He would come by and give us tips, on his own time, as one of his close friends worked with our small company.

This MURDER rattled me to the core and still haunts me to this day. Ricky was serving a relatively minor warrant as I recall, but "H Rap Brown" (I refuse to use his Muslim Name), also had charges related to guns, from Cobb County I believe.

H Rap Brown could have opened the door and handled business like a man, taken the arrest, got booked, and bonded out. But no, being the COWARD that he was, he blasted Ricky and Deputy English before they even knew what hit them as I read all news accounts.

Then, proving himself to be a COWARD, "H Rap Brown" fled the scene and ran off to Alabama where he hid in a barn for a few days before being caught (his bullet riddled car with him) and brought back to GEORGIA to face a "jury of his peers" who found him GUILTY.

H Rap Brown professed to be a MUSLIM, a man of the ISLAMIC faith. Well, then all I can say is, you better hope that Allah is "GOD" (Fact: Allah is not God); and well.....BROWN, since you pinned your hopes on a FALSE GOD, unless you REPENT, you are going to live for Eternity in HELL.

I am not a HATER of all things MUSLIM, but I will close with this comparison for you to make your decision. Take for example: Muhammed or Jesus?

Now, if you want to, you can go to the Middle East and visit the Tomb of Muhammed and yes, his body is "in there", just like he was buried.

If you want to, you can go to the Middle East and find the "borrowed" Tomb where JESUS was buried, after He died on the cross for ALL SINS. Oops, but don't be disappointed when you don't find "the body", Nope....see HE IS RISEN and THE TOMB IS EMPTY.

I refuse to let my anger for the "choice" taken by H Rap Brown on that terrible day, that took RICKY from us and his wife and kids way too soon, to consume and burn HATE within me.

And I pin my HOPE on the FAITH in Jesus Christ that tells me I will see my friend again.

Hey Kinchen,

It's been 15 years since that night. I remember the last warrant arrest we made together earlier that evening. It was a juvenile arrest warrant off of Hollywood Rd. I still wonder what would have happened if I had went with you and English on this warrant arrest too. As you know I was sent to another pull instead. I tried to come with you but the Sgt. made a different call. I want you to know I got there as fast as I could when the call came out, but I wasn't fast enough and I'm sorry. I still wear the bracelet with your name on it every day and I still tell your story to all the new recruits. You haven't been forgotten. As long as I am able to tell others, you will be remembered.

Rickey and I grew up together meeting in the old "Head Start" program at Industrial School. I have fund memories playing basketball in the morning before school at the Junior High and joking around during our high school years. I was at work on the sad day in 2000 when the news flashed across the TV screen and every year since I have surfed the web to read any memories that may have been posted.

Deputy Kinchen, or Rick, as I called him, was a very loving and humble man. He loved his job, and he loved his family. It was hard to believe when I learned that he had died. I still remember it all, as my best friend's death left me in a state of disbelief. I had just seen and spoken with him a few days earlier, and we had plans to hang out. I coached at nearby Grove Park, and Rick would sometimes drive through and speak to my players. He is now a granddad, and I know he is looking on proudly. Although time goes by, and we lose good people, God won't allow us to suffer beyond our ability. I know He is keeping my friend close, and his family can be assured that his love will never fade away. I will always be there for Nique and Lea as a substitute for Rick. Much love and respect. You will forever be in my mind and heart.

I was one of your husband's coworker not as a deputy but as a clerk. Deputy Kinchen as I could remember a very wonderful person willing to help others. I was at the funeral and was in shock like you and your beautiful girls were! My heart just melted with pain for you and the girls, but God has kept you and will continue to keep you! It just was a very painful time for all of us especially his partner Deputy English. We looking for anything we could do to help and comfort you and the family. Everyone at the Sheriff Dept. loved your husband and respected him.

With the recent shooting death and arrests in the Michigan Masque, Jamil Al-Amin (H. Rapp Brown) has recently been in the news again. This man will hopefully spend the rest of his days rotting in a cell without ever the chance of seeing the outside world again. You are not forgotten brother. Please watch over us as we continue to carry your watch.
