We attended the academy together Class 134- hard to the core. Eric was a fellow cadet and a friend. As I reflect back on his senseless murder, I can’t explain the feeling of loss. It’s is a hole that is always there. I now have the additional load to carry of two more from the department I am retired from. Gil Vega was a friend beat partner and mentor and Lesley Zerebny was a wife mother and kick butt new cop who I did not know personally. But was told of many great times which painted a picture of a beautiful woman. They were both murdered on this day 10-8. From 1999 until just two short years ago makes no difference. I am very sad at their deaths but thankful that one day I will see them again in heaven. I give continued prayers for the officers and their families daily for safety and security that only God can give.

19 years. Still honoring as a Brother should and would. A strange bit of karma, providence or whatever it might be thought of as; the significant other to my daughter was born the very same day you passed. I like to think that a little bit of you was passed to her protector, to look over her shoulder while I watch over yours.

17 years. Time keeps marching on yet it seems like yesterday. Your Brothers are retiring or have made that step already. Someday we'll meet up again and you can tell us if we carried the torch and did well in honoring your deeds. Until then, RIP friend.

16 years ago, my daughter was born into this world. 16 years ago, you were taken from this world, Eric Thach. Some would say it is how the world is balanced. I would say that we lose those that make this world great too easily and that we are very imbalanced.

We bring things back to center by working harder and trying to live up to the standards you have given us. We honor you by this and carry on your memory and story.

16 years is long. Eternity, may it be guided by your example.

Hard to believe it’s been 16 years, I remember it like it was yesterday. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you, I never covered the patch in my tub because it reminds me of you. It was hard to get ahold of you with your schedule and you called while I was in the middle of mixing the fiberglass. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity so I did the patch while holding the phone with my shoulder, which may be why it looks so bad. Thanks to you and your father I can’t listen to the Beatles “Here comes the son” without thinking about you both, yet I think about the song every time I see a sunrise.

Miss you and love you brother.

Hey Bud,
Oh how the memory is still fresh and haunts my mind. I did not find out until late this night 15 years ago. No one wanted to call me. I know you don't blame them due to the extremely close relationship we had. A part of me died that night too. Only to be resurrected when we are reunited. I love you and miss you terribly!

Love,
Suzanna and kiddos

15 years has passed and it is as vivid as if happening today. Your story grows with time and will not diminish. Your Brothers there that day, remember. We keep a watchful eye for your family, as you do for us. Know that your life will be celebrated tomorrow and your deeds told with great respect. A salute to you, Brother, as always.
