Reflections for Special Agent Paul A. Leveille

Hey Dad,

It’s Father’s Day and I’ve been thinking about you. Im a Combat Camerman now and I’m currently deployed to Africa and been flying a lot. Every time I’m in the air I think about you and how much I miss you being in my life. However, I think you leaving us so soon has made me into the man I am today. I hope I make you proud. I’m proud to be your son everytime I talk about you…

I miss you Daddy. It just doesn't seem to get better. And now Nana's with you. I need you. I need you both. Why did you have to be such a good Dad? You left such a big hole in my heart when you left. Where do I find the meaning in life without you here? Twenty years, twenty days, it's as real as yesterday to me. My heart is just torn to pieces and I don't know how to fix it. I don't think it's fixable. It's the new normal I have to live with. I can forget it for a while, but it's always there. It's hitting me so hard this year. It's hit me hard other years too. I need my Daddy. I just wanna crawl up into your lap in a little ball and forget there is a world, and I have to be an adult, and I have to live life without you. My cheeks and face are burning from crying. Yet all the tears in the world won't bring you back. I Love you So Much. I Miss you So Badly.

Hey bro! Just now came across this site for the first time. Just wanted to tell you how much you are loved and missed by all. Mom and Dad are doing well. Your kids are all growing up! Wow! You would be proud if them! So many characteristics of yours, I see in them.
I really wish you were around to talk to. Many don't understand how close you and I had become in those last few years, but I appreciate the strong sense of family and it's importance that you left us. It hasn't been easy but we all seem to manage. When the good Lord finally calls me home, I look forward to catching up with you. You were a good man, a good son, a great brother and a pretty awesome dad! Love you very much bro!

Hey Daddy! :)
I turned sixteen today! I wish you could be here! I miss you so much... I hope you are proud of me. I wish I had memories of you daddy! I wish I knew what it was like to crawl up into my daddies lap and fall asleep to him telling me a story. I wish I knew what it was like to just have a long talk with my dad. I wish I could remember your voice or your laugh... I don't know why God chose to take you when He did or why He never let me get to know you, but I do know that He loves me and knows what is best for me. Someday I will know exactly why He took you, and it's then that I will hear those words that I have always wished I had had the chance to hear you say... "I love you Rachael!"
Under God, you are my hero dad and I love you with all my heart!!!
Love,
Your Rachael <3

To my beloved cousin, it's Veteran's Day and again, I find myself remembering you and trying to live up to your example. You were always an inspiration and the older brother I never had. I still try to emulate and follow the gentle guidance you always provided. You were genuine and wise beyond your years, Paul.

As I get older, you seem to get even smarter. I hope I'm doing well by you; I'm sure you're still keeping a watchful eye on your younger cousin from up there.

Until we meet again....

Dear Dad,
Thinking about you a lot lately. Missing you so much as I reach some major milestones in my life. It's still so hard accepting the fact that you're gone. I'm so proud of you dad...I hope God allows you to look down from heaven to see just how much I love and miss you! I can't wait for the day I'll be in your arms once again...and in the presence of my Savior! Love you dad, and I'm trying to make you proud.

Today I'll performing the part of Leah in the story of Joseph, and I really hope you'll be able to look down from heaven to see me. The tears I'll cry will be for you.

When I hear the words to the song "Heaven was needing a Hero," I think of you dad. You truly are my hero.

"I remember the last time I saw you,
Oh you held your head up proud
I laughed inside when I saw how you were, standing out in the crowd
You're such a part of who I am
Now that part will just be void
No matter how much I need you now
Heaven needed you more."

Love,
Your Sarah

Paul,

As we approach the Holiday season we think of those Agents who are no longer with us. As pilots for the FBI, we especially remember your sacrifice that has made the rest of us safer. Your family is in our prayers. I'm sure I speak for all of the FBI's Aviation professionals when I say thank you for helping us all to be safe.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Special Agent Leveille. We honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. We rarely know it when a hero walks among us. Today, because of the sacrifice Special Agent Leveille has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family of Special Agent Leveille, I want to say that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him during his daily duties, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Special Agent Leveille is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

You have slipped the bonds of earth to touch the face of God. You've earned new wings in heaven...wings of gold that will be pinned on you in the resurrection of the dead. Until that time, enjoy your rest in the pilot's lounge of peace. We'll keep on keeping on without you, but we'll always remember how you served. You're cleared for takeoff, contact departure and enjoy your rest. We'll watch over your family while you're on your trip.
