Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Mark William Brown

Mark,
The stories occur to me once or more a week, and I want to share them with you, because I know you and I will just laugh and laugh about them; but you're not there to call on the phone, and I can't hear you on the radio to cheer me up. Everyday you know how much I miss you, and others just seem to go on with their lives.

Mark, I new you and your brother when you were both young rookie go getters in precient 4, you guy's were both great, and when I was a local store detective I loved seeing you come on my calls. I then saw you years later when you came to my church for the kids to meet you and play on your bike... I even took a picture of the bike with only your helmet and gloves on it, that picture was in your funeral procession on my vehicle.

I wasn't fortunate enough to have met you while you were here with us on earth, but recently, through your family and friends, I have learned so much about you; I know that we would have been good pals. My guess is that you are up in heaven livin large and watching over all of us with a beautiful smile on your face. Thank you for your sacrifice. You are greatly missed. Please continue to watch over us and know that you will remain in the hearts of the many lives you touched; like a candle in the wind. God Bless.

There has yet to be a day in over 3 years, that I don't think of you. And there won't be day to come where you aren't in my thoughts.

Mark Brown was my first Field Training Officer when I worked at King County. We remained friends even after I went to work for another agency. I write this now, over 2 years after his death with tears in my eyes.

He was a great friend, cop and teacher....He is missed every day..
