Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

As i continue with my journey into Law Enforcement, you are an 'unknown' individual that has been my guiding force. The pages i have written, with you as my topic, have impacted many individuals that read along. My life has been changed learning not only who you were, but who you are. On 08-14-2003, my recruit class at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy read Officer Knights memorial page. Each day before our defensive tactics class we remember all those that have given their lives.
Today my class worked hard in memory of Officer Knight. You will not be forgotten.

Some days come and change the lives of everyone. On 09 JAN 99 your life was changed forever, as well as the people around you. When I think of how I do my job, I take great pride in knowing that I have served with one of Chicago's Finest. You are in the back of my mind always. Your spirit DOES live on in those who were lucky enough to have known you.

John Knight was one of those guys. One that you immediately knew you were going to like. He had an ever present smile. He had a zest for police work. He wanted to be a difference maker and indeed he was. John had knicknames for everyone and in the years that I knew him I never once heard him say a bad word about anyone.
We miss you Johnny. We miss you today and everyday from here to enternity.
