Your heroism and service is honored today, the 79th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I said a little prayer today for Police Officer Barney and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

I grew up in the little town of Hoosick Falls in Rensselaer County. Although you were taken many years ago, I hope you and your family know that someone will have a good thought for you today. Rest in peace my brother. We have not forgotten.
