Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Constable Micheal Ray Eakin, III

Ray just wanted to check in with you. WE ARE STILL MISSING YOU SO MUCH. Your Aunt Carolyn had to go to a nursing home and right along with her went a picture of you in your uniform. She was so proud to show it off to all the nurses and her visitors. Every year at christmas she has four lite blue lights in her windows in your honor. Ray we miss you more as the years go by.I know if you were here now what a time you would have with all the new babies in the family a whole new generation of our clan as arrived.
We Love and Miss you BUNCHES

The 17 year olds sentence was commuted to life. Bless his heart!! It's hard to believe that the system that we stand up for will let a cold blooded scum of the earth murderer off. Just goes to show that even evil gets the sympathy from our U.S. "Kanagaroo" Suprmeme Court. I think an excellent reqiurement for any new Supreme Court Justice would be to have been a Police Officer assigned to the street for a while. It makes me flat out sick to know that pukes sentence was commuted to life. His family can still go see him. His mother can still recieve cards and letters on Mothers Day. Michael's mom only has memories of her Hero. All of these bleeding hearts that say," Oh he was only 17 when he killed Deputy Eakin, he was a juvenile. It's just goes to show what these "activist" or what ever they call themselves are saying. Deputy Eakin was good enough to be an Officer, and forfeit his life for others. But he was not good enough to be properly be served by the same "Justice System" he swore to enforce. So for the family of Deputy Eakin, GOD BLESS YOU ALL, HE IS STILL HERE PROTECTING SERVING US ALL. For the "juvenile", just think, you have yet to go before the BIG JUDGE or see "JUDGEMENT DAY." For the bleeding hearts that says a poor little 17year old is a juvenile and can't be executed. I spit on your beliefs.

7 Years ago today Deputy Constable Michael Ray Eakin III lost his life in a senseless murder. Constable Eakin is remembered this day by our Department honoring him not in the way he died but in the honorable way in which he lived his life. When the end of his watch came and the Lord called him home he was serving his country, community and family. We wish all of his family, friends and colleagues to know that we are with you, and we have not forgotten.

It has been a long time since this tragic incident. You haven't been forgotten and never will be. Me and my sister remember Ray so many years ago and had some good times throughout Junior High and High School. You will always be in our thoughts. God Bless your family and freinds.

Love always,

Deputy Eakin,

You were the officer shown on the first page. Your family is in my prayers. I know that you have met Deputy Josh Rutherford already. He decided that he was going to be a leo the year you left.

Your mother is my thoughts and prayers. Maybe she will be at the parents retreat.

Michael:
It seems just yesterday to me that I saw your smiling face first thing in the morning walking across the cafeteria at school. What I wouldn't give to see your big smile once again and hear a good joke. I hope you know the impression that you made on everyone left behind and that even after 6.5 years without you, we all still love and miss you my old friend. Save me a place and watch over Dannie during his continue service to Pct. 1.

Your loving friend forever,

Michael,
I never met you... but Sgt. Steve Davenport told me about what happened to you. He was your partner at the time of the incident there in Harris County. He showed me the tshirt he had in memory of you. I was dating Steve and he had just asked me to marry him when he was also killed in the line of duty. Steve is on this website under Limestone County Sheriff's Office if anyone reading this wants to see. I hate to see what happens to the good guys trying to do the right thing. I know the pain your family feels and I wanted to let them know they are in our prayers. Please tell Steve I said hi and I miss him dearly. Your treasures on earth may not have been much, but the Bible tells us that your treasures in Heaven will be great. I did meet your dad at Steve's funeral and what a blessed soul-he gave me great advice and a lot of peace. I was a dispatcher for Limestone County at the time of Steve's death, then I took a break. Law enforcement was calling me back, so here I am dispatching and I love it. Thank you again for your sacrifice.
With love in Christ,

I remember on the news the day he was killed and I was ready to enroll @the police academy @ACC However,my wife discouraged me from going as the result of his death;Him and I walked in the same shoes in our upbringing.I was outraged @the justice sysyem for letting that lowlife murderer off the hook and I'm sure it's outraged others as well.I'll always remember him for as long as I live and to the eakin family...you'll see him again one day soon. God Bless.

DEAR SON, I AM SO SORRY THE SYSTEM LET YOU DOWN. IT IS SO UNREAL I DONT KNOW HOW THAT CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT 17YRS. OLD DONT KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG. YOU KNEW RIGHT FROM WRONG AT 17. I HAFT TO BELIEVE THAT GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR KILLER. ONE DAY HE'LL HAFT TO STAND BEFORE GOD AND HE WILL PAY. I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU VERY MUCH AND I AM SO OUTRAGED AT THE SUPREME COURT AND THEIR DECISION. I FEEL LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY ALL OVER AGAIN. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN SON, I LUV AND MISS YOU YOUR MOTHER BARBARA JOHNSON

WELL RAY I HATE TO BE THE ONE TO TELL YOU, BUT THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM HAS FAILED YOU. THEY REDUCED THE SENTENCE TO 30 YEARS. IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM FAIR TO KNOW THAT BECAUSE HE WAS BORN A YEAR TOO LATE HE DOESN'T GET THE DEATH PENALTY BECAUSE HE WAS 17 WHEN HE KILLED YOU. HE NEVER GAVE YOU AN OPTION OF HAVING A LIFE, TO GET MARRIED, HAVE KIDS OR ANYTHING AND NOW WHEN HE GETS OUT HE WILL HAVE THAT OPTION, IT SICKENS ME EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT IT.

I LOVE YOU AND I MISS YOU I MISS ALL THE MISCHIEF WE GOT INTO WHEN WE WERE LITTLE... KNOW THAT YOUR MOM LOVES YOU AND THINKS OF YOU ALL THE TIME SHE CAME TO MY HOUSE FOR THANKSGIVING THIS YEAR I WISH YOU COULD HAVE BEEN HERE... I NOW HAVE 2 1/2 GRANDKIDS AND THEY ARE ROTTEN AS CAN BE... I THINK OF YOU ALWAYS AND WILL NEVER FORGET THE SACRIFICE THAT YOU GAVE ON SEPT 29 1998

I LOVE YOU AND WILL SEE YOU AGAIN

Michael,
As I sit here today thinking of you and remembering all the fun times working at the pavilion. I remember the "Quick Draw McGraw" act and can only laugh and remember how cute you are...how only your smile could bring light into the most gloomy day. I know that you always thought I just rode your behind but unknown to you....You were my special "rookie". I certainly do miss you and think of you often. If you don't believe me just ask your "new boss"...He knows that I pray daily.

MIKE, I WORKED FOR AN OILFIELD COMPANY IN THAT AREA WHERE YOUR LIFE WAS TAKEN. I HAD WANTED TO GO INTO LAW ENFORCEMENT, BUT AFTER THAT I CHANGED MY MIND. I WAS ONLY 21 AT THAT TIME AND OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS I DROVE TO WORK, IN THE SAME AREA, THINKING OF YOUR SACRIFICE SO I COULD GET TO THE SAME DESTINATION SAFELY EVERYDAY. IT WAS YOUR DEDICATION TO DUTY, SERVICE AND THE PROTECTION OF LIFE, THAT I ALWAYS REMEMBERED AND HELPED ME TO BECOME WHAT I NEEDED TO BE. I ATTENDED A LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY IN 2003 AND AM NOW A POLICE OFFICER. ALTHOUGH WE NEVER MET, IT WAS YOUR SACRIFICE THAT HELPED INFLUENCED MY CAREER. FROM MYSELF, MY WIFE AND CHILDREN MAY THE LORD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. SO REST EASY MIKE AND AS FOR THE REST OF THE COPS NOT YET IN HEAVEN, WE'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE!

It is hard to accept that you were taken from us five years eleven months ago today. It seems like only yesterday sometimes.

I constantly remember some sweet conversation, look at a cute picture, see something special in a store--they all bring tears to my eyes and a new ache to my heart. I wish I could have hugged you one more time, told you I love you one more time, seen that bright, mischievious smile one more time. It is so unfair--not being able to say goodbye! I suppose that is why I hear the sound of your sweet voice and your laughter in many of the things I do.

I can only imagine what life would be like if you were still here. I miss you so very much and will always love you!

DEAR SON, NEXT MONTH WILL BE 6 YRS. THAT YOU WERE TAKEN AWAY FROM US. IT'S STILL FRESH AS IF IF HAPPENED YESTERDAY, I LOVE AND MISS YOU VERY MUCH, YOU WERE MY HERO AND MY SHINING STAR AND YOU'LL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART AND SOUL BECAUSE YOU ARE A PART OF ME. IF TEARS WERE A STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN AND I COULD BRING YOU HOME AGAIN, I WOULD BE THERE IN A HEARTBEAT, BUT I KNOW THAT CANT' HAPPEN, SO I PRAY THAT YOU ARE OK AND GOD HAS HIS LOVING ARMS AROUND YOU PROTECTING YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN. SO SON, UNTIL THEN I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH . LUV YOUR MOTHER BARBARA JOHNSON
