Gene it's been almost three years now since your end of watch. I am currently working with your son Travis and he reminds me alot of you. You paid the ultimate price to make our County safer and for that I honor you. Now our deputies have another warrior brother to keep an eye on us from heaven. God Bless you and your family Gene. Job well done, thanks.

Deputy Chad McDaniel

When remembering my uncle, the most important thing that can be reflected from his life if the Godly man that he was. He was a man of integrity, honor, and pride. He served this country as a deticated officer who went out of his way to be an example to those in need, both physically and spiritually.

He is greatly loved and missed. When you read this, please say a prayer for us, his family.
I would like to leave you with encouraging words. We know where Uncle Gene is today and are looking forward to meeting with him again some day. Will you be there?

Neice, Charity Cottrell

We love and miss you Gene.

Gene would have been 58 years old today ... we will celebrate his homegoing instead of his birthday. Because he knows the LORD JESUS CHRIST we know that someday we shall meet again. In the 55 years that Gene spent here on this earth he did a good job loving his wife, raising his children, and serving his Lord and his department. Thank you Lord for the gift of my brother, keep him close till we meet again.

Love you and miss you Gene, your sister Ann

Officer Gregory was a good dad and officer. He loved what he did for a living because he loved helping other people and for him, that's what it meant to be a cop.

Next to the pride I have for the good job he did and the great Dad he was to my brothers and I, I guess my greatest joy is from the knowledge that my Dad was a Christian and that one day I will be able to see him again.

I worked with Gene several years prior to his death, and I was never more impressed by any individual. To this day I think of what I have learned from watching and working with Gene. I never met a man who worked as hard as Gene, or with such a devoted work ethic. But yet, that is not what I reflect upon when I think back to the time I spent with Gene. He had a true love of his family and others around him. On the day that he died, I remember walking past him as he talked to his son Travis. I cracked a joke, and we enjoyed the laugh. After that day I look at my children and, strive to have that bond that he had with his children. I think of you often Gene.
