"Hey C.O.". Just a second to apologize for not being at the Slam Jam this weekend as TC only told me about it after I had promised to take my son on vacation to Baltimore. In some ways I wished you'd have stayed in the County Jail. But, most of us have moved on. My Dad arrived to join you on 29JUN06. He pulled +37 with CFD. Hope you guys get communicate. I miss you both and God calls those he wants best soonest. Miss ya, C.O. .

It has been 8 years since you were called away. You have not been forgotten by those that love you nor will the Blue Family ever let you be forgotten as you are a true Hero. Keep watch over your family and loved ones and those still out on patrol.

To Detective Robert Clark, his loved ones, and his fellow officers:

On this the eighth anniversary day of your tragic death, please know that you are remembered and honored today.

Reading the reflections left for you lets me know how well-loved and well-respected you are, and how dearly you are missed.

I share the agony of your loved ones as I lost my beloved youngest son when he was murdered during a foot pursuit of two robbers on April 23, 2005. I am awed by your courage and dedication, and am so sorry you lost your life at such a young age.

Robert, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Robert. Your memory is honored and revered today and everyday.

This respect is sent with the utmpost respect for the service Detective Clark gave to his country and to his community as a police officer, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on July 1, 1998.

Rob was my brother and my dearest friend. The night he died changed everyones life that ever knew him or came in contact. Every night when I went to bed I prayed for his safe keeping. I will never understand why God did not answer that prayer for me. I now wait for him to come in my last minutes and know he will guide me to the place where both of us will be finally together again. I will be in a place where we finally can laugh together again and I can throw my arms around his neck and whisper in his ear as I did for 36 years of his life-I love you so very much.
I love you more than the sun, the moon and the stars my little brother,

I was a dispatcher when you were gunned down. I remember the day like yesterday. It was even harder to hear the tapes of that day while in the academy(9/28/98). I will never forgot the sacrifice you made for the citizens of this community. Thank you...May you watch over all of us and keep us safe. May God bless your precious family.

To your wife, Cathy, and your children, Melissa, Alaina, and Robbie Jr.; If you are ever in need, call on a Cleveland Police Officer, for we are all charged by your father to assist you in any way possible!

Robert,
I joined CPD 3 months after your death. While a recruit in the academy I listened to the radio tapes of your shooting, to this day thinking about it brings me to tears. Thank you for your sacrifice and please continue to watch over your brothers down here.

I hope to join the Cleveland Police Department someday. Partly because my grandfather, Raymond Mickol was an officer with CPD, and also to keep the memories of all fallen officers, including Detective Clark, alive.

Another year has gone by, we have not forgotten you or the others who now walk with the lord. I see these pages and it reminds me to hug the family & friends. And to pray for your families well being. You are still spoken of by the new guys, and I hope they follow your determination to keep the streets clean. God bless you and your family, and thank you for your service.

I remember very clearly the tragic story of Detective Clark's passing. May his wife and children always know that what he gave IS appreciated and valued. He IS a true hero who gave his life so others would have the chance to live a safe life in Cleveland.

Another Night of Crime

Another night at work,

Another night of crime.

Another night to see some good and some bad,

even thought the ending will be very sad.

The night had started,

and a criminal had been spotted.

The suspect was running,

as the chase was just starting.

Up one flight of stairs,

but we were sure to follow.

The suspect had been patted down,

and the drugs had been found.

Before the arrest could be made,

the suspected would push us down a flight of stairs.

The six shots were fired,

and I was the one who caught four of them.

Even with the suspect still there,

My partners carried me to safety.

And now the one they called a power ranger,

has just been defeated by evil.

If only I had one more day,

I could tell my children and my wife,

The love I had for them each and every day,

and the pain I am feeling for leaving them this awful day.

You are a true hero to us all. Rest in peace brother.

Police Officer
Denver Police Department

Rob Clark was a terrific police officer. He was dedicated to his duty and he performed well everyday. He loved his family. He loved his wife. He loved his children He loved his job. He knew how to balance that love. He loved life. He was a prankster who made others laugh. He liked to do that(make others happy). His co-workers loved him,his Community loved him. God took him early. Maybe he needed someone to make HIM laugh. I think he needed another guard for his Kingdom. Our streets are less safe because Rob is gone. Our Community has one less hero to serve and protect. Rob was an everyday hero, who walked everday with everyday heros, and who now walks with the Lord. I miss him everyday. I think of him everyday.
