Reflections for Police Officer Anthony F. Mosomillo

R.I.P

Sergeant
NYPD

May 25, 2015

Remember that day like it was yesterday, I was a member to the 67 Pct Det Sqd and on that day I was assigned to Kings County Hospital. A Million things were going on at the same time, the Mayor detail asking questions, member's of the 67 Pct standing on line waiting to donate blood, people crying and asking why. I was standing in the Emergency Room area when they wheeled Tony by me on his way to the Operating Room and I saw my friend, my brother a sight that could never be forgotten, at this point even I had to find a place so that I could cry and vent my anger and frustrations at what was going on. Tony a father and husband a decent human being an awesome friend will forever live in my heart, May he Rest in Peace.

That tragic day is embedded in my heart and mind forever.
Anthony was a childhood friend, fellow brother, and most respected delegate/police officer.

I plead with all LEOs to take a minute and send a "NO PAROLE" letter so this savage mutant can never, ever see the light of day.

Tony Mos....you will always be "a partner, a hero, a friend".

I am honored to have sent a "No parole" letter, so the cowardly subject remains locked up - and denied the pleasure of living in a world that you made safe for all of us.

I grew up around Anthony. I doubt he would even remember me, as I was a younger kid who would just watch him from afar. As a teenager, I was in awe of him. He was a big strong guy, and immediately commanded respect when he would show up at "17th Avenue Park". But Anthony was different. Although he was an imposing figure, there was something gentle about him. He looked out for the younger kids, and would never tolerate any bullying. When I found out he became a Police Officer, I was surprised. But then I later realized that he was probably one of the best men ever selected for such an important job. Anthony was a gentle giant. A decent person who was that rare combination of strength, decency, and warmth. The world is a sadder and colder place without him. And although I never really knew him very well, I know that he is sorely missed..even 13+1/2 years later.

I was a jury on this case. Like most other jurors I wanted murder charges not manslaughter, however there were some doubts surrounding this case since Betsy Ramos did not pull the triger. RIP Officer Mosomillo and may your family find the strength to continue their long journey to a happy peaceful life with you in their memories.

TODAY WE REMEMBER ANTHONY WHO LEFT US WAY TO SOON BECAUSE THE SYSTEM FAILED HIM ALLOWING A LOWLIFE TO ROAM THE STREETS WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN BEHIND BARS. HIS BRAVERY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AS HE MADE SURE THAT PIECE OF GARBAGE WOULD NEVER HURT HIS PARTNER OR ANOTHER COP AGAIN. WE SALUTE HIM FOR PROTECTING US HERE ON EARTH AS HE PROTECTS US FROM HIS PATROLS IN HEAVEN. THANK YOU ANTHONY, WE MISS YOU AND THINK OF YOU.

I met Anthony when I was doing my field training in the 067 back in 10/07. He called a bunch of us rookies over, told us he was the PBA delegate and gave us his business card if we needed anything. He then convinced some of the old timers to give up some lockers so us rookies didn't have to take our stuff home every night. I didn't know him well but it's little things like this that shows what a great guy he was and a good cop. God Bless

I never had the opportunity to meet you, but still knew a lot about you from reading the stories about your death and seeing the memorial to you in the 67th Pct. I hope you are resting peacefully. You will never be forgotten...
