Reflections for Investigator Brandon Heath Thacker

Brandon,

Yesterday marked 25 years since you left. I think of you often. Doesn’t seem like it’s been a quarter of a century. You’re not forgotten!

Investigator Thacker,
On today, the 25th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during the 1991 Gulf War. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Sir, we have never met, but we have some mutual friends. And … you would be proud of the way they have carried on and remembered your legacy and life. I am truly sorry for your passing, and thank you for giving the ultimate sacrifice. You will never be forgotten.

Brandon was in my academy class in Richmond. He was a great guy. It was terrible news when I heard what had happened. The thin blue line got a little thinner that day. I think of him often.

Dearest Investigator Brandon Heath Thacker,

I am so sorry, though it has been years now, to hear of your tragic ambush. My heart breaks. You were so young and so willing to serve. THANK YOU. My prayers of love and comfort to your wife and son, the Department, community and those who knew and love you. You were deprived and so were we. I pray to meet you someday and that your family can reunite in peace. I want to say thank you to your wife, Kathrine, for all she is doing for your memory and our fallen officers. My daughter is only 23 and is a police officer for City of Davis. We have seen the tragedies first-hand. May HE keep you and guard you until the day we all meet. The offenders will have their day. So very sorry.

Love and Blessings,
Kim

Feeling thankful that I was a friend and teammate of Brandon. We had some laughs and
typical teenage jokes. Even though we lost a friend and teammate in Brandon, I am so proud
of his bravery and service. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for all he achieved and
people he served. This April 16, will be 21 yrs. He and his family gave so much, that is why
I am truly thankful to have known him.

Getting ready to celebrate our 30th high school reunion. I was saddened to hear of his passing years ago, but very proud of his service. Wish I had known him better in school and beyond.

Brandon was a wonderful person to know. I was blessed to have worked with him in the Louisville branch office of ABC. I will always remember our talks, whether it be about cooking, or race. He was comfortable with whatever conversation that day brought. He was a special young man who loved talking about his family. I will always be thankful for having had the opportunity to work with Brandon-his stories are now memories.

Brandon,
Just wanted to let you know you are thought of often. My son has been in heaven with you for a month now and I'm sure you have already met him. Give him a hug for me and tell him I love him. I tell him every day but he'll get a kick out of hearing it from an old friend of mine. See you when my work here is done.

I never had the pleasure of meeting you, but I know so much about you. I rode in your honor this year with Law Enforcement United. Your wife has done so much in your honor and continues to be an idol to us all. Your daughter looks so much like you. After getting to know you through your family I regret not ever getting to meet you. Rest well brother, your family is in our hands now. Keep watch over all of us to continue your work each day!
