Reflections for Officer Michael Anthony Partin

Everyday I pass the small wreath on the bridge and remember the price this officer, his family, his friends and his community paid. I did not know Officer Partin, yet I mourn the loss and pray that God watches over those who watch over us. Thank you.

I attended the police academy with Michael Partin, Class 252 and spoke with him virtually every day for 10 weeks. I do not believe I ever saw him without a smile on his face. Partin and Price, they made a good duo, always keeping the rest of us in good spirits. I still think of him to this day. I can only imagine the impact he had on his fellow officers, family and friends. He will be missed.

I would like to express my family's and my support to you and yours. I grew up in the great city of Covington. I have not sent a reflection until now. I did not know what to say. You Mike are forever in my thoughts, even though I did not have the pleasure of knowing you. I believe that you have a friend that you played ball with in high school that stills works for Covington. I know several officers that I played football with at Holmes they are special to me even though we do not see each other. I like you are a pretty agressive officer, I enjoy the hunt. It is law enforcement week and I thought this was a good time to say thank you. VIO CON DIAS............

Rest in peace, and thanks for keeping the peace while you were here. It has been 6 years since Officer Partin's death and he is not forgotten. He will live forever. I'm proud to read of his sacrifice, and hope to be given the great honor of wearing the badge like he did. God bless his family, and repay them in the way that only He can.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Today, January 4, 2004 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Officer Michael Anthony Partin died in the line of duty on this date six years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Partin's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I've been to your beautiful little city. You would never know of such tragedy, by its beauty. As Officer Partin now knows, Jesus Loves Him, so do we!

Although I was not formerly aquainted with Mike Partin, he was my brother. I've found in my eight years of service that we Law Enforcement Officers are a Family, we must look after one another. It matters not whether one wears Blue, Gray, Brown or Green. We all stand for the same thing and we all perform the same service. " To Serve And Protect" And that is what this officer did! You Will be Missed Brother!! May God Bless You and yours Mrs. Partin.....And remember Mike may be Gone....but he is certainly not Forgotten!!! God Bless!!!

I would just like to say that I often think about Officer Partin because this happened on my son's birthday, January 4th which his father is a police officer. My prayers are with the Partin family.

I attended Basic Training Academy Class #252 with Mike Partin, and I am proud to say that I knew him for that brief, yet intense, period of time. I will always remember "Partin" as he was there, at the Academy - funny, witty, comparing scores after a difficult test with me and the others, wondering which ones we may have missed! When I heard about how he had died, it came as no surprise. Self-sacrifice was part of who he was. I will remember him for the rest of my life, and in some ways, "Partin" will always be on duty with me.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am over the loss of Officer Mike Partin. My late grandfather, Lt. Col. Jess Sanders of the Covington Police Detectives, died two months before Officer Partin's body was recovered, and was damn proud of his service to the people of Covington. I know I am, too. I cried the first time I heard of Officer Partin's grisly death, and he was always in my prayers. I only hope and pray that his family can find some peace in the future. I will always remember Officer Partin. He truly IS a hero. Rest in peace.

On earth he could only protect a few. In heaven he can protect us all.

As dificult as it is to accept our loss, may we be comforted by Mike's valor. Although he was
only given to our world for a short time,we are thankful to have be given the opportunity to
include him in our lives.

Neighbor and Friend

Mike Partin paid the ultimate sacrifice while helping a fellow Officer. He lived a hero, he
died a hero. Mike touched many lives, and with his sacrifice, he helped find the body of a
missing woman. While searching the Ohio River banks, the body of a young woman missing since
December was found. Mike continues to help people and his memories and impact on the community
will help many more. Mike's body is still missing in the Ohio River, and we shall not rest
until we find it, but Mike's soul is in heaven. Mike's wife of 8 months needs our support and
prayers, please give them as freely as Mike gave his life.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God. Matthew 5.9

To the Covington Police Dept. and Mikes wife, His death brings home the importance of the job
we do. I am proud to have served the Law Enforcement of Northern Kentucky at the same time as
Officer Partin. You are my family, please take faith in the fact that Mike is in a better
place. May God take care of all of you. If there is anything I or, my wife Park Hills 5, can do
for you, we are here for you. May God bless you. Your brother and sister, Sgt. Roger W. Paul,
Walton Police Dept., & Tonya J. Paul, Park Hills Police Dept.

I would like to say to Mike Partin's widow, I am sorry to hear of the loss of
your husband. I am glad though that his body was finally found and it could not
have happened at a better time than Memorial Day weekend, for now you can have
peace in your heart and mind that he is finally safe with God and have some
type of closure in your life. May God Bless you and your daughter and help you
find the strength and courage to continue with life. I know you and your
families have been through a great deal since this all happened, GOD BLESS you
and all your families.

Florence, KY, Resident

Family, Honor, and dignity is what Mike Partin will always been remembered by. Though we mourn the passing of our fellow brother and friend we rejoice in the knowledge that Mike is in a much better place. Mike gave his all till the very end, and for that we thank him and honor him. Our Prayers are with Mike's family and the entire Covington Police Department. All though I did not know officer Partin personaly, I feel that he was a brother of sorts. I am not an officer of the law how ever i have a family member in law enforcement and greive anytime an officer looses their life. So to the Partin family my thoughts and prayers are with you still and will always be.
