Reflections for Police Officer Bruce VanderJagt

Dear Bruce:
You are always in our hearts. Your little girl is learning to drive now and she needs her guardian angel more than ever. Please keep your watch over her.

With our love,

It's difficult to believe it has been 13 years since that fateful day. Though time has tempered some of the pain, you are still missed deeply. We love you Bruce.

Bruce,
I am a friend of a close friend of yours.... He has taught me so much in the few short years of knowing him, he is a great officer, an awesome husband and father, and he inspires me to live my life true, to keep my principles, and most important to never forget who I am. I believe you taught him alot of this on the streets as you worked together, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a friend to him. I know that one day as I enter the gates of heaven I will be able to shake your hand and say thank you

Anna and Hayley,

My family and I met you both on the sky tram in Albuquerque Sky Tram many years ago. I hope you two are doing good. Both of you are still in our prayers.

Officer VanderJagt - Sounds like you were a hero, Sir. Your courage is an example to us all. Four Fridays ago, on a very rainy morning, I stood in the State Assembly chambers when you name was one of almost 250 read off during a motion regarding this month's Peace Officer Memorial Week - you are not forgotten.

Thank you for your service to the people of the City of Denver and the State of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me

Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you

(Fly Me to the Moon,
recorded by Frank Sinatra, written by Bart Howard)

On this day, the 12th anniversary, we love you and miss you.

Missing someone gets easier everyday. Because, even though it is one day further from the last time you saw each other, it is one day closer to the next time you will. ~ Anonymous

Not a season of the year goes by without thinking of your sacrfice and just how much you gave for your family, your community and the men/women in blue. It has been one of the highest honors in my life to have known and served your loving family. I know you are so very proud of them. Blessings and eternal peace to you.
