It will be 8 years since you paid the ultimate sacrifice and you have not been forgotten nor will you ever be. Keep watch over your family and those officers still out on patrol in Chicago. There are no words that I can say to ease the grief of your family which I know they still deal with on a day to day basis. You are a true hero and will never be forgotten.

Officer Young I want to thank you for your service to the people of Chicago. As a Law Enforcement Officer I understand that this job is something we love doing. The person that shot you will get his sentence in the after life and no one can commute his sentence. I salute you Officer Young and please keep your watchful eye on all of us here on Earth. I know that you are sitting on the right side of God and enjoying talking to all of the Officers that has gone on.
