Reflections for Police Officer Eryk Todd Heck

TO THE FAMILY OF OFFICER HECK:
REMMEBERING HIM TODAY ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH AND ALSO REMEMBERING HIS FAMILY WHO I KNOW MISS HIM SO MUCH. THAT FEELING NEVER GOES AWAY. THERE IS ALWAYS A VOID WHERE HE SHOULD BE.
WE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THESE THINGS HAPPEN ESPECIALLY TO ONE WHO DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO HELPING OTHERS, BUT WE HAVE TO TRUST THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE MADE RIGHT ONE DAY.
GOD BLESS YOU AND MAY HE KEEP YOU IN HIS CARE.

As I read through the reflections of my brother's E.O.W. I came across your name. I felt compelled to come here and to read all the messeges left here.
I truly know that Eryk and my brother are heroes and are watching over us all. I truly admire Eryk, byputting himself in harms way for his fellow officer. My eyes shed tears for you and your family and I ask myself the same question, "Will and does time heal this wound? I pray and have faith that it will for all of us! Thank you for all your kind words about my brother. It is good to know that you and your family are alot alike our family with love, kindness and bravery. God's blessings to you!

Tomorrow we will attend Taylor's "graduation" from preschool. It hardly seems you've been gone almost 4 years. Taylor is so big and has so many of your characteristics!!!! We miss you so much but we find comfort in the fact that someday we will see you again and this time it will be forever!!!!!! I give Taylor kisses for you and she throws kisses to the wind for you to catch. She is already talking about the balloon she wants to let go on Father's day for you!!! Be with her tomorrow and forever because she is all we have left of you. We love you!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle(Heck)James

Eryk,

Just a note to let you know we still think of you and miss you.  Your sacrifice has not been forgotten.  To your wife and daughter, they are still in our prayers.  Your sisters are remembered often as are the rest of your family.  I drive by Till Rd every once in a while and talk to my eight year old son about what happened there, and how a good man stood tall in the face of danger.  I don't ever want him to forget.  He still remembers Officer Heck and says prayers for your family.  Until we meet again in Heaven.

Your Brother in Blue,
F.W.P.D.

We miss you so much....every day.  We watch Taylor grow and see so much of you in her.  She remembers you  in her own way...sometimes by looking at the stars at night and telling her daddy goodnight.  Sometimes by telling us how you hated snakes and loved ducks.  Sometimes by blowing you kisses or letting a balloon go at the cemetery that she know will float up to you.  She is how we know that someday we will see you again. You still live in her for us. I look forward to the day I see you in heaven and can once again tell you how much I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eryk was a wonderful brother.  I miss him very much.  He is my hero, and each day I know that he is an angel watching over me and guiding me through my experiences.  One day I will see him again in Heaven.  His smile is the sunshine in my heart and gives my spirit the strength and courage to live each day to the fullest.

TO A FALLEN FRIEND

GOD CALLED YOU HOME TO BE WITH HIM JUST TWO YEARS AGO,
AND NO ONE HERE QUITE UNDERSTOOD JUST WHY YOU HAD TO GO.
YOUR LIFE WAS LIKE A RAY OF SUNSHINE TO ALL OF US EACH DAY, BUT YOUR DEDICATION TO YOUR JOB HAS TAKEN THAT AWAY. YOU NOW LAY IN GREAT RESPECT WITH OTHERS OF YOUR KIND FOR EVERY DAY WHEN YOU WOKE UP YOU PUT YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE.

Ofc. heck was a good friend to all of the explorers in our post, there were a few of us that did not know him, but when we went to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in D.C. it hit all of us pretty hard.
