Reflections for Police Officer Charles E. McDougald

Skip, The years have gone by but you memory and deeds live on! In comparison to others, there is none. You did more for you community than most. Selflessness was you "modus operadi" You touched so many lives in the classroom and on the street. Words really cannot express your contributions. Just remember, we are grateful for you service and what you gave and did for your family and community. Thank you...

Skipper was a very nice man. He was my cousin and he was very proud to be a police officer. He loved his job very much. When he visited NC he carried his badge proudly. He is deeply missed by his loved ones.

Officer McDougald, I attended your funeral with many other members of my department. It was the first, and, unfortunately, not the last police funeral I have attended. Although I did not know you, I was proud to have been there to help in paying tribute to such a fine police officer. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May you rest in peace brother Charles.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend. Deputy Jeffrey Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

Officer McDougald, you are remembered on this date of your death. You will always be remembered.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

...Gone, but never Forgotten....

Your death was such a tremendous loss to your friends and family.  But the citizens of Buffalo, New York lost out doubley when they lost you "Skip" McDougald.  This is because you were a school teacher by day, and a police officer by night.  You are personified by the words selflessness, courage, heart, and caring.  You made your community a better place.  How many people in this word can honestly say that?  Thanks for keeping our children smart and our streets safe Officer/ Teacher Charles "Skip" McDougald.  Say hello to Doris, Moody, and CJ.  Three of Buffalo's finest who left this world recently.

Not only was Charles an outstanding street copper, but he was an excellent human being also. You see, Skip was a policeman by night. But by day, he was a school teacher in the Buffalo Public Schools. He truly cared about the community, and MADE A DIFFERENCE. It was very sad hearing his students reflecting about Mr. McDougald the teacher, during his funeral. I can only think that this world is a little less safer due to his and America's other police officers passing. God Bless them, for they blessed us.

I am sorry to hear about the death of Police Officer McDougald. This happened 6 years ago, but that doesn't take away the pain and anger caused by losing him so tragically. I hope that his family has been doing well over the years. It would have been nice if he were able to grow old and tell stories about being a police officer, but you will always have the pride that he gave you while he was here. He will live on through your memories and stories about his life. Rest well, Officer McDougal, and thanks for fighting the good fight. You've earned your place behind heaven's gates.

I WAS REVIEWING SOME OF MY OLD COLLEGE BOOKS AND SAW OFFICER MCDOUGALDS PARTNER ATTENDING THE FUNERAL. THE PHOTO IS A VERY HEART WRENCHING PHOTO THAT ALL CITEZENS SHOULD SEE TO SHOW HOW HUMAN POLICE OFFICERS ARE AND HOW IN A INSTANT AN OFFICERS LIFE CAN END WHILE SERVING AND PROTECTING THE PUBLIC. GOB BLESS OFFICERS MCDOUGALD'S FAMILY AND HIS PARTNER OFFICER MARTINEZ.
