Reflections for Trooper II Gregory Patton Fleenor

Greg

I fondly reflect our attendance during the 90th Basic Session. You had the uncanny ability to make the whole class laugh. Your impression of Sergeat Watkins still reigns supreme. Being with the US Park Police now I make it a point to stop by the NLEOM and see your name and others I have known. You were an inspiration during the academy. I shall miss you.

To the daughter of Trooper Fleenor, your father was a hero.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Today, December 12, 2004 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Trooper II Gregory Patton Fleenor who died in the line of duty on this date eight years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Trooper Fleenor's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

God bless you and your family. You will not be forgotten.

Greg, you were a very special person in my life. An angel sent from God to teach me His true love for all of us and how He has a reason for everything. Not sure how he taught me anything when he took you and then a year later takes my sister with you but I'm getting there. I was blessed to have had your friendship and love and maybe that was what you meant by there is a reason for everything. Thanks for teaching me to two-step and not burning that Gomer Pyle hat after all. Your dad said you didn't!! I just take comfort knowing that when Jessica went too, I knew you'd be up there to greet her. So now you're with Jessica up in Heaven, wreaking havoc but having fun, that I will never doubt. I just hope that God can handle you both!! I now have you and Jessica forever over my right shoulder, a place you both used to be.

Reckon you are still working the Interstate some nights. At least I know the highways. I see that blue and grey from time to time. Gone on to the Federal side.

Appreciate the assistance you rendered on a cold November day Trooper. You could have drove by but you stopped.

Thank You!
