Joe, I can still remember when I was younger, all of the nights hanging out with you and Nathan at the PD. All of your jokes, and always making me laugh. Thanks for the memories. There will always be a special place for you in my heart. Rest In Peace.

A decade has passed since your tour of duty ended and I know your loved ones have thought of you every day and live with past memories of you. Keep watching over them and protect them from harm. Justice was never served in your case, my justice was that the illegal that killed my son was also killed so I did not have to deal with trials. You are a true hero Officer Bryant and you will never be forgotten.

Joe,

I've spent years visiting this page but never knew quite what to say. I still remember your many smiles and your sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around you. Smithville's loss was certainly Bastrop County's gain when you came over. I certainly consider myself blessed to have called you friend. You are remembered...

To Patrolman Gary Joe Bryant, his loved ones and friends, and his fellow officers:

On this the ninth anniversary of your brutal murder, please know that your valor, bravery and dedication to your job is remembered. Rest in peace, our hero.

I hope that your family continues to be supported and cared for by their law enforcement family, and other police survivors. God bless each family member. To his daughter, your loving reflection touched me very much. I wish I could have personally known your father as I am sure he was just as you described him.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Patrolman Bryant gave to his community and the citizens of Texas, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on October 27, 1996.

I was looking at the "Today in History" section of the ODMP today and saw the memorial for Patrolman Gary Joe Bryant. I did not know Patrolman Bryant but it makes no difference. We are related by the badge.
Thanks in part to the ODMP, Patrolman Bryant will forever be remembered as a true American hero.
It is my prayer that God keep safe from harm the men and women of the Giddings Police Department. May each of you continue to experience the eternal love and endless blessings of our Lord and Savior.

My brother and friend,
I miss you. Things have changes a great deal since you have been gone, but you remain in our hearts and prayers. I miss those nights working radar and talking about lifes problems, or taking a break at Circle K while you ate hot dog after hot dog.
My brother, you made a tremendous impact on my law enforcement career and I won't forget you.
