I never got the chance to meet you but I’m sure I would have been blown away of the type of officer and person you were. Your story is still being told at the PD. I recently wrote a paper about you at the academy. Every time I go into the station I visit your plaque on the wall as a reminder what officers are up against each day and the risk we take in exercising good from our hearts. Wish you were here to teach me and other officers how to connect with Kankakee. I will make sure that the story of your life as an officer continues to be passed along as it was to me. Rest well my brother.

On behalf of Offcr. Anthony Samfay's mother, who extends her sincerest gratitude to all his friends and family members who have not forgotten this beautiful soul. To all who continue to visit his gravesite and leave heartfelt messages, know she keeps you near her heart. She wishes you to know she prays for all of Tony's fellow officer brothers wherever they may be placing their lives on the line to keep us safe as Offcr. Tony did. God bless you for all you do!

Typical RAT move to allow this dirt bag killer of our Brother to breath air. When will most of these politicians wake up and stand up for our brave officers and tell the world we will not allow you to continue to act in this barbaric way towards them. God bless you and your family and please know that you are NOT forgotten. Semper Fi Brother

The day Tony was murdered is forever etched into our memories. For those who did not know Tony he was always willing to give his time to the citizens. We worked an extra duty time as SRO's for the Kankakee School District. Tony had a gift where he could reach troubled students with his kind words and attention . Tony could diffuse high emotional situations and bring calm to the emotional storms we faced in our community.

Every time I go to the VA, I pass the Cemetery where Tony was buried and say a prayer.

Forever in our hearts and minds

Hard to believe it has already been 18 years since that awful day. Today was a cold, rainy day like it was when that animal took your life.
We will never forget you bro.
