To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Officer Yodkins, thank you for your courage and bravery. As a police explorer in Farmington, I learned of your sacrifice. Every year we stood at the river's edge and honored you.

Look over us all now and keep us safe. Rest in peace sir.

Officer Yodkins,
On the 50th anniversary of your death the local newspapers and television stations covered ceremonies in which you were given the Farmington PD Medal of Honor for your heroic actions on that date in 1955. You truly displayed courage on that day as you rescued several people from floods and died while trying to rescue another family.
God bless you for I know you are at his side.
