To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 74th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

mom of fallen Pittsburg (CA) officer Larry Lasater

I did not know Uncle Whit except through family reflections. I do know he was loved and missed. I was named for his wife, Frances Virginia McMullan Wright, and we were very close. Thank you, EWC John Mumper for sharing your respect for him. If you would like to share what you remember I would like to be contacted.

Marshal Wright, It pleases me greatly that I was able to provide some information to the staff at ODMP that led them to discover & bring to light the means & manner of your E.O.W. 70 years ago. Your Brother Marshals, the law enforcement community, & the interested public needed to know. You are not just a name any longer.
Rest In Peace Marshal, your Brothers are on the job.

EWC John Mumper, USNR (Ret.)
