Officer Wilson,
On today, the 55th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Illinois. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.

You were my dearly loved Uncle George. I was so little when you were taken, but know this- you are still loved and remembered in 2011.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 46th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

It was a sad day, 43 years ago, when we lost three of our bravest to a senseless riot. Thank you for your dedicated service, Officer Wilson, you are not forgotten. Rest in peace, sir, we have the watch now.

The Correctional Officers’ Prayer

Lord, I ask for courage...
Courage to face my own fears.
Courage to take me where others will not go.

I ask for strength...
Strength of the body to protect others.
Strength of spirit to lead others.

I ask for dedication...
Dedication to my job to do it well.
Dedication to my community to keep it safe.

Give me, Lord, concern...
For all those who trust me and
Compassion for all those who need me.

And, please, Lord...
Through it all,
Be at my side.

Uncle George,
I was only 6 when you were brutally taken, but I still remember and love you. You were a wonderful person, and a loving uncle. I couldn't understand what had happened for a long time. I still don't grasp how those 4 people could have done what they did, and still be alive to this very day.
I love you, Kelly

You are remembered today and thank you Sir for your service, this writer is always disappointed when a sentance is not fully carried out when a law officer is killed
